FacetiousFuckBoy's companion/romance rant

There actually is a Nuka Cola-made ghoul in Fallout 3. I'm thinking this drug is meant to be a massive dose of radiation which is lethal versus just just a little bit of irradiation from being an object blasted with radiation from the war.
The problem being, ghoulification is supposed to occur by non-lethal doses over an extended period of time. Even then, most aren't supposed to survive and become ghouls.

True. Bethesda seems to have retconned it into the vast majority of ghouls being products of the nuclear war, which isn't a bad thing if it's no longer FEV + Radiation but just Radiation. Which is why there's seemingly infinite numbers of Feral Ghouls because 1% of all people killed by nukes would still be a lot.

Obsidian doesn't seem to be against the idea of instant ghoulification. Camp Searchlight is filled with ghouls made from NCR soldiers that were exposed to a radiation bomb.(Thanks, Wiki)

I'd like to state my only problem with Feral Ghouls is "running" Feral Ghouls are the opposite of scary. In zombie movies, one bite turns you into a monster. In Fallout, where HP is used, it becomes a case of a slapfight.

Ghouls were originally intended to be mostly defenseless and weak from what I understand. Have you tried fighting the Necropolis ghouls in Fallout 1? They just shuffle around and punch for no damage. They're not scary in the slightest because they don't transmit ghoulification like a zombie.

I am a fan of tough ghouls, though. Harland is a badass.

I didn't say Fallout 3 did I? Doesn't seem like it. Can't see myself referencing something lore breaking to prove a point.

Are the ones at the nuclear plant in Fallout 2 harmless?

Yes, All ghouls in Fallout 2 are non-hostile.

No, I meant when you were shooting them up for our Beloved Leader and Savior.

But are they harmless shambling zombies if you do attack them?
If one can shamble with a gun and move like a human, yes.

They act like humans in combat and defend them selves like humans, attack like humans, even the glowing ones.
Edit: It's easier to make a 3d character that isn't handicapped mentally, if of course you want your actors to have feelings and substance.

Which would indicate they can attack like at least the Washington ghouls.

I get you Phipps, but honestly, I have selective reading and no matter how long or short a statement/post. I will stop reading/have no interest in discussing 3/4 unless it is to attack them, so if you, going forward decide to use 3/4 as a justification for something, or you're own personal head canon, don't expect a reply from me. Just a friendly heads up. I do enjoy communicating with you, but you'll have to try harder if you want me to take your opinion as serious. I like to troll people as well, but you've been here long enough to be considered someone that might stick around. It would be nice to recognize your posts as valid instead of ignoring them as I have been.

Ah Lynette, the biggest bitch in the Fallout series.

Is there? I'm racking my brain trying to remember, the only Nuka Cola-affected creatures I can remember are Nukalurks.
