Faction joined in NV?

Autumn'sEnclave

First time out of the vault
Which faction did you join in NV? I went with Mr. House. I think an independent Vegas would be the next best choice, then NCR, then Legion.

NCR is corrupt, imperialistic, spread too thin, bloated, and I don't think it will last too much longer on the path that it's on.

Caesar's Legion... Wow. If you really want what's best for the Mojave, these guys are the opposite of what you want. Caesar is the man keeping the Legion alive. And he has a brain tumor. When Caesar dies, who's next? Lanius? Bright future with the Legion.

Both of these factions bring old world back into play. NCR, Democracy. Caesar's Legion, Roman imperialism.

Mr. House is immortal, Vegas is in a great position with him in charge, he is incorruptible and is genuinely looking out for humanity's best interests. Plus, with the OS II upgrade, the Securitron army is obviously the most powerful force in the Mojave.

Either House or Independent.
But really, anyone BUT the legion. Because they are lame.

I think Obsidian ran out of time or something, because the legion isn't that well developed.

You're lame, and yes they ran out of time. Still sided with them though. The legion builds a nation from the ground up based on strength and fear, NCR builds a nation from the top down based on money and power. House is content with just farting around in his little bubble of influence. Easiest decision of my life

Word. Caesar actually won me over with his speech. NCR acted like a bunch of crooked ass politicians. Neither is an optimal choice but Legion protects their people at least...except for the woman that are whored out as baby machines.

Only, what happens when caesar dies? Either by that tumor of his, assassins or just because he's an old fart. Who would be the next Caesar? Lanius? The legion would crumble.

I'm sorry, its just that the legion bores the hell out of me. I don't find working for them to be fun at all.

Yeah, Lanius will become the new Caesar.

Good points of legion
1. bunch of stealth boy
2. tons of energy cells

but I don't think legion is bad compare with fo3's factions.
but compare with independent or NCR they are bad choice though.
At least they can make wasteland safe.

I went with House on my first playthough. He had the loftiest goals and the best tech. But, during that playthrough I became immediately disenchanted when he wanted the BoS destroyed. I also don't like the endings that come with a "House win".

I heartily agree.

Legion? Bunch of spear chucking monkeys in a plasma weapon world. Great target practice.

Now, I go with Yes-Man!

Wait, why would the legion have stealth boys + SEC? I thought they hated tech.
They loot lots of ECs but they don't use it.
So they can give you tons of them.
For stealth boy, maybe legion use it since they provide stealth boy at safe house.

I went with Yes Man on my first playthrough, and he still remains my favorite playthrough to this day.

NCR I believe are quite corrupt, stretched too thin, annex everything and push taxes onto everybody if they come into power in the Mojave.

Legion are a bunch of maniacs, enslaving people, crucifying those who disobey, making women sex slaves, hate technology and refuse to move on.

House is sorta okay in my mind, but I don't like the endings that occur from House winning; like the Kings in Freeside being wiped out simply because they didn't attack NCR citizens (along with House trying to increase his control over the area), the BOS being massacred, the Strip being coldly run, people who are poor end up getting poorer and the rich getting richer. House is refusing to let go of the Old World.

With Independence, nobody gets taxed, there's free water and electricity to people (along with Helios One generating some electricity). People who were poor to begin with start doing well for themselves due to a huge influx of travelers going to the Strip (as stated in the Goodsprings ending), the Kings making Freeside one of the safest places in the Mojave and being friendly with the NCR citizens. Along with a huge army of upgraded Securitrons at your side, many faction allies that you would have gotten, and the guidance of an influential Courier who has gotten around a lot, and an AI under his control, Vegas is well protected. Plus, along with the helpful sciences and technology that the Courier slowly reintroduces back into the Mojave when he decides to watch over Big Mountain, the people of the Mojave can get the technology that House could have gotten then, except with no House. And also, I believe that when Yes Man is up loaded with the chip he has full access to all of Houses tech anyway.

And must I not forget this when you side with Yes Man? :D

Their biggest failure was not letting you fully align with the Followers

Oh hell yeah! I would have loved to be able to side with them, or at least have them help out NCR/Indi New Vegas (Caesar would most likely refuse their help, and I can't see them siding with Mr.House)

Yesman's the precursor to Skynet. You don't want another apocalypse, do you?

Yes Man's upgrade at the end of the game ensures that he will only take orders from the Courier. He isn't going to end up betraying you and try and wipe out the human race.

That depends on your actions in the game. If you side with pacer for one of the King's missions, Mr.House actually takes a liking towards the kings.

From the wiki

[spoiler:7c06ae69d8]During the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, some Kings took it upon themselves to launch several attacks on NCR citizens and soldiers around Freeside. Mr. House looked on these actions favorably, seeing them as proof of The Kings' loyalty to New Vegas, and decided to leave them alone. [/spoiler:7c06ae69d8]

I do agree that it's a bit annoying that he doesn't allow for negotiations with the BOS.

That's what he wants you to believe...

Actually, he said very bluntly at the end that due to the programming in House's network, Yes Man was going to reprogram himself into being "more assertive". Essentially he was going to replace Mr. House, entirely, the only difference that he'd try to work towards the goals he and the Courier had established to begin with. But what it would ultimately mean was left entirely ambiguous.
