Fallout 1-2, areas which are tedious or overly long.

- Adytum battle, Blades vs Regulators. Fuck me if it takes long, those were like 20 minutes and with max speed on. For a battle that is certain to win, albeit Jon always dies and there's the danger of losing Smitty or the PA upgrade guy.
- Necropolis. A pain in the ass to move around.
Zimmerman can survive. I saved him a couple of times. You likely have to take down the Regulators on your own though, without support from the Blades. In any case, it's possible and not that hard to do. Smitty easily survives too, if you run to him next.

Necropolis? Can't agree. I never attack the ghouls and the rats are done with quickly as well.

Some of the complains now move awkwardly into the "turn based is shit, give me real time combat because it is faster!"-direction. :>

Oh I know. But Jon gets in the mass of guys with the same model and dies of a stray shot, and 10 minutes of fight later, for me he can stay dead. I tried to order a companion to stay put there, to block myself...

At Necropolis, I rather don't mean the encounters rather than how do you move around that place. Every time I had to visit the friendly ghoul down there I died a little, honestly. And there are no green "cell transitions", for some wicked reason.

I love the games' combat yo. Especially the second's which has more weapons other than the Plasma Rifle :p

Does Zimmerman has scripts in case he survives or is he supposed to die in any case ?

Doing all the quests in the Den takes forever with often incredibly minor benefit/profit.
Rat caves are worse than temple.

Another resurrection. I don't even care anymore. Also, Den quests... some are neat. Like enforcing the gang war to not have to do it all for yourself later and bonuses. There's also the best powerup ever, the Highwayman.

Oh man, what can I say that hasn't already been said about the Temple of Trials? You missed. You missed. You missed. You missed. You missed. You missed.
Klamath's silly rat caves are also mind-numbing, but I'm not really that big of a fan of Klamath or The Den in general. Fallout 2 starts really slow in comparison to 1, which gets you up and going really quickly. Always liked that about 1.

;P

I just ignore combat and run through the temple.

Also jinxed helps.

Its not that much XP! More is earned telling Cameron to piss off.

What loot!? DX
2nd spear(total of 3 including the sharpended by the time you leave) healing powder, other junk.
Disarming the stone step traps nets good exp along with killing everything there. By the time you are done I believe you'll have a level and enough junk to sell to buy ammo or a jacket in Klamath. But most importantly that early level lets me put points into a fighting skill to kill the rats in the cave. Which lets me miss less often making the whole ordeal shorter. (And If I feel up to it, murder some geckos in the hunting grounds) where I will compulsively pick up xander and roc cause Myron can make them into stimpacks even though I never do.

The entire stretch between Arroyo, Klamath and the Den.
I guess that sums up my feelings pretty well, Fallout 2 is my favorite game of all time, but I always do those first 3 places generally the same, and in that order because of their map locations and appropriate level/gear to where you are in the game.
After that it feels more open (though I usually go to New Reno)

Funny, because I consider the beginning (Klamath+) to be better than the late game, as at some point everything feels like you're just rushing through the rest of the game now.

I agree with this...Once you get past the first three areas, you're strong enough to stomp most stuff, even more-so if you loot the toxic cave vault.

The start of fallout games is always much more fun and difficult, shame it gets exponentially easier with each armour upgrade.

I think the STALKER franchise does a good job at keeping enemies tough without gross stat bloats.
