Fallout 2 Mods Discussion

First time out of the vault
I am interested in knowing which Fallout 2 mods you all consider as being exceptional.

I have played Fallout 2 with The Restoration Project. It is an excellent mod in my opinion. I also remember from way back in the day, that Fallout Nevada was an excellent mod for Fallout 2. I have also played Olympus 2207 (another great mod for Fallout 2)

I am interested in quality mods that are on par with the vanilla games.

Which mods have you all played that you feel are of superior quality for Fallout 2?

probably fallout1in2, it really brings ALOT of new and great features to fallout 1 by moving it to fallout 2's engine and using patch mods from both 1 and 2, it introduces things like running through doors automatically opens them, customizable hotkeys, a chrysalis highwayman-like motorcycle to travel fallout 1 faster and a bunch of cut content from fallout 1 (its essentially just the restoration project but for fallout 1) ps. if you are on the fence or are thinking about installing it id heavily suggest this video (which i first heard of fallout1in2 from) :

Yeah, I saw that video and have played Fallout 1in2 (Fallout Et Tu). I still think Fallout Fixt allows more "customization" of the game with its installer options. I wish we could have the best of BOTH worlds. That's why I wanted to start this discussion. To determine the pros and cons of each mod. Are there any more "story" mods for Fallout 1 like Fallout 2? (IE: Nevada, Olympus, etc...)

well there is "fallout 1.5 resurrection" but i haven't done a full playthrough of it. it feels like a classic fallout game and is quite easy to install, though make sure you download the English version rather than the Czech version

Playing Resurrection now. For some reason I remember these mods... The wayback machine is a little fuzzy. I remember doing these quests. But then again, I also remember doing Sulik's village in Fallout 2 long before The Restoration Project was a thought. Old timers... Memory fading.

Anyone know if FO: Nevada 2.4.1 ever got an English translation? Or if it's possible to port the English translation from an older build? I really like this game, but it still seems like its pretty buggy/unfinished.

I have this version of Nevada:

[con] F2 Nevada Mod (Extended) HD [v2.0.3.3].exe

As far as I know it is in English. It came from here:

That's the version I have currently. I've translated some of the posts on the Russian nuke city forum, and from what I can tell both versions should be pretty much the same. The russian one adds companions (you can find the files on pg 121 of the official Nevada thread) and a few other odds and ends. Wish this game was as well documented as Sonora is.

Seeing as I haven't installed that mod in a while, perhaps it's not in English...

The NMA link for the mod is here:

the Companions add on was originally made by US authors, it's been translated into russian and adapted..

I'm fully aware that the trinket mod is unavailable to western audience, however the Nevada NPC addon mod that used to come bundled with an older patch, was stripped from the patch contents by myself, then repacked into a standalone mod.. it is now available in my ftp archive, access for which you can seek in my "video HD upscale thread".. the initial pst there mentions how to reach my archive

as for the OP

sinve You've tried the largst ones like Resurrection, Nevada, Olympus, Sonora,
perhaps it's time to check out the more niche ones:
Last Hope is the main one though look around.. for others there's a sticky with guide to mods in this thread, also Drobovik and _Pyran_ ( especially his footprint under each post - visible only while loged in- archives should be most beneficial as far as it goes for mods..

out of top of my head:
-Wasteland Merc trilogy
-Ardent's mod demo
-V13 mod

and many many more that i don't remembered or weren't my flavour of gaming.

I was not aware the companion mod was done by non russian devs, interesting. I appreciate you hosting the files and making them available, I actually pulled them off your server already. Do you know if you need to start a new game to recruit them?

None of these are MY mods or servers. I am just trying to help you locate what you are looking for.

Yes You need a new game, there are some new global variables in the mod that are nessecary in order for the mod to function.. so tough luck
