So in this expansion bozar is a support machine gun or a strong sniper rifle ? I hope it is not a machine gun. It should be a sniper rifle but be used with big guns skill.

I can usually fix a bug in a few minutes, so as long as the list isn't too long and doesn't involve complex issues, I can probably fix all the reported bugs in an hour or so.

As for another delay, oh, I hope not. I have delayed this release so many times it really isn't funny. Life is currently throwing me more curve balls, as it has done to me these recent years, so we'll see. Everyone just needs to remember that I do all of this for the love of the game. I have sacrificed hundreds (maybe even in the thousands now) of hours, over the course of 3 years, to make the unofficial patch and RP as good as possible. RL always takes precedence and if another delay will have to occur, which I apologize if it does, so be it. In the end though, it has been worth it, and I am happy that people are able to squeeze more enjoyment out of this great game.

If it isn't too late, I'd like to raise an issue with Robobrain (Skynet). The problem is that no stat-affecting items can be used on him. While it's obvious that chems shouldn't (because he's not an organic critter), not all of stat-affecting items are chems. The "Monument Chunk" item probably increases stats by "magic" rather chemistry, so I don't understand why it can't be used on Skynet.

Another item which can't be used on him but CERTAINLY should is the "Bonus +1 Strength" item. This one is spawned by Miss Kitty at the Cat's Paw if you or one of your companions spend time with a prostitute there. Miss Kitty then tries to use it on you or an NPC, so that you or him get a stat bonus for 1 hour. The developers obviously envisaged it being usable on Robobrain since a) he's present in the list of the possible "friends to hook up" b) Miss Kitty then tries to use the item on him, but since it's not usable, nothing happens.

Take it easy folks, we waited till now so we do not lose much if we wait a bit more.

All of we know that this delay is caused because developers of the Restoration Project are playing new Fallout 3. This is a volunteer project so be cool and patient.

I don't think this is an issue:

List of temporary stat-affecting items: Buffout, Jet, Psycho, Mentats, Cookie (yum), Monument Chunk.

Buffout, Jet, Psycho, Mentats, Cookie: They affect the organism. Skynet is a robot, so obviously they shouldn't affect him. Ever seen a robot who takes pills (or eats)?

Monument Chunk: It is not certain that it should affect Skynet - what if it affects the target's soul somehow? So I don't think it should be able to be used on Skynet.

Bonus +1 Strength is not supposed to be an item. Anyway, Skynet could not benefit from spending time with a prostitute. And the Bonus +1 Strength item is supposed to affect just characters that spend time with a prostitute.

I noticed a bug in the Rp. In the Abbey, you can get any number of wine from Hank for free. I had 4 gold coins, and i could drink or keep as many as i wanted.

Hold on there... some of those effect the BRAIN (i.e. mentats) and Skynet has, at best, a cybernetic brain which also has some organic components... so shouldnt it affect him in some way? And if he has any other brain, shouldnt it have full effect?

ANd spending time with a prostitute maybe somehow stimulates his nerves/brain?

Putting all this squabble aside, i think skynet is as it should be. Just leave him unaltered...

I really dont think that stat raising items should be usable on skynet. I mean the chems only affect living organisms (well he could use mentats since it affects the brain, but how would he eat the pills?). Raising them by by sex just doesnt sound right either and concerning the magick rock your forgetting that magick and technology dont mix well together (for more info visit the land called Arcanum :lol: )

Skynet has a living brain which once belonged to a person. Therefore if people have souls, he also should.

Reeealy??? If so, can you tell why the player says to Miss Kitty "Can one of your girls read the dictionary to Robo Brain? It stimulates his brain center"??? Maybe he should get an AG bonus instead of ST for "stimulating his brain center", but the devs definitely intended him to get something at Cat's Paw. Only a "blind" man can't see that.

Correct me if I'm wrong killap, but you still haven't answered my question regarding the compability of your mod with the Weapons Redone v. 1.7. Will they work together (or, more precisly, should)?

This final version of 1.3 will be the base of some new mods that people will make; like the rangers and slavers changes someone proposed in another thread.

1.3 will essentially be a pristine version of fallout, and I think it makes sense for people to make mods for this version. I hope so at least.
 
Low damage

Hello,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this.

I am currently playing a game of RP v1.2. Damage values seemed fine until I reached the Den (i.e. while fighting rats and scorps). In the quest to help Lara's gang, a firefight occurs at the end. Virtually no damage is being done on either side of the NPCs. I target the head and the eyes with a 10mm, and constantly recieve combat messages like "the eyes were hit critically for no damage, causing massive pain" :P. However, normal damage seems to be done to me and Sulik (currently wearing leather/no armour), which makes suspect there is a problem with armour calculation since all the NPCs are wearing metal armour.

I totally agree with that.
It would be nice to go on further with a basic like the 1.3 RP

Killap, with the release of 1.3, I sure it still will have new some bugs, so what i'm trying to say is isn't it handy to do some kind of beta test? So after a few weeks testing you could release a stable version which should act as a template for all other mods.

Also in the past you talked about a 2nd kind of restoration pack. the one you made now was as the original development team considered to put ingame and the 2nd one was new mods that fit into the game and enhance it (like the slaver mod currently in the making). You probably retire after the 1.3 release, but I still wanted to know if there might be a tiny little chance that in the future you would make some game enhanceing mod...

(sorry... I ask for to much, I know... but it never hurts to ask right :wink: )

Finally I would like to thank you (again) for all the great work you did for fallout. You even should get a very big cookie from the orginal developers!

True, I never did answer this. I don't actually know what that mod modifies...probably just proto files, so I cannot say for sure. As long as you are only overwriting proto files (and not .msg, .lst, etc) files then it will be perfectly compatible. Since it was compatible with RP 1.2, I doubt it will have a problem with RP 1.3. (again, assuming it doesn't overwrite any critical file modified in 1.3)

I highly doubt RP 1.3 will be the last. There will certainly be bugs that I missed that will still need to be addressed. In addition, I still have hopes of including the Shi sub, but this will only become possible if someone offers his/her services to create new artwork and help with map work. In any event, the road to 1.4 will be a long one.

As for a second type of restoration pack...I cannot promise this will ever happen. The tweaks I consider important for the RP are already included as options in the installer and I add to the list from time to time when I see fit. The Expanded Slavers/Rangers mod does interest me and as long as it isn't too hard to make it an option in the installer, I will consider including it when it becomes finished.
