Fallout 3: GECK available for download

That's good news, I suppose.. Maybe after a while I'll be inspired by mods to actually finish this darn game, cause I gave up after reaching level 12 and never came back. Instead started my first playthrough of Fallout 2 Restoration project. That says something, cause I actually finished first two Fallout games for the first time not so long ago, about half a year back.

I am so glad its finally here. While I love fallout 3, I feel that the game stands to be improved, and hopefully the community can make it happen.

PS: I am making the crashed UFO flyable again :) he he he.

ugh god sake, can anyone please label the rest of this so I don't have to try and guess everything and spend hours trying to get through the first part of the tutorial? (just the overhead map is fine, I can figure the rest out from there.)

edit: I know they want me to think what should go there but people who are trying stuff like this for the first time aren't going to have a clue.

Great news! Can't wait to try it out.

Oh wait, I did. After launching the exe file ("Fallout3 - Garden of Eden Creation Kit.exe") the game starts and that's it. Anyone had the same problem?

^ Well, on the one hand it's not that bad of a thing cause it is relatively similar to the FO setting. I'm not that sure about the stylistic differences though. Anime mods and conversions for non-anime games tend to be pretty bad.
Indeed, though there are some pretty amazing character and clothing/armor mods for Oblivion (the ones I've seen were all hosted on a Japanese site so I'm guess that they were made by Japanese people). To really make it look right you really have to aesthetically rebuild the game from the ground up.

Too bad they started their own wiki for it, would be nicer if they just officially supported Vault-Tec Labs modding wiki at Wikia.
They really seem to be trying their hardest to create their own wikis that are as divorced from the original fanbase as possible, it's a real shame and removes a lot of support from any claims they have about working with the fan community (both TES and Fallout).

Yeah, that's kinda weird. You worked your ass off and spend damn hours to update every piece about Fallout 3 from the news, and Beth just didn't bother. They probably don't even know of your existance.

Like...fuck man! Where is the world going? Nobody cares anymore about people just because they don't belong to the "company".

The only thing we've got are just those stupid adverts, like the one on the top of the forum's page. Like...WTF? why do they care about the size of my penis? No! I won't buy your shitty Vimax, or something, to make me feel better. It will not! I am happy with the size I have, you pricks! And all the girls I've met are happy with it too!

Damn!

But why not enlarge it even more? More is better. Have a Vimax.

It's a shame about their ignorance towards Vault-Tec Labs modding wiki although it seems their wiki existed before or was maintined during Fallout 3's development? Look at the amount of articles in there - 1,013!

Anyway, Ausir. You don't wanna hang with those corporate pricks? Fallout 2 modders will support the old wiki.

Yeah, delete all info about FO3!! :D

Write something like "Fallout 3 doesn't follow Fallout spirit and even more- the canon. So fuck it!!" :D

Eh, there are a couple things I'm hoping for:

1. Less mindless Ghouls. Yes, they existed in previous games, but there weren't so many that you practically choked on them every time you turned a corner.

2. Make going into the subway actually worth it. Put some items that you won't find anywhere else down there in hidden caches or something. Create some little events, mysteries, or whatever. About the only remotely interesting thing down there in Vanilla FO3 is the scuffle you have over underwear. Sad.

3. For crying out loud, make containers that have high lockpick requirements actually contain good loot. Why would someone lock down a chest containing 18 bottlecaps?

Most of these articles are short stubs or links to the TES CS wiki, though. And it was created in November, likely copypasted from their internal wiki, which could be done just as well at wikia.

Anyway, if we want to keep Vault-Tec Labs as a valuable resource for Fallout 3, we'll need to transfer all the information from the GECK wiki there (preferrably not copypaste, but paraphrase it).
