Fallout 3 is the second-greatest PC game of all time

In a word: pacing. Half-Life 2 showed that Valve w ere masters of pacing. They know how to feed you the storyline without letting you get too far from the action. They know just how long to stick you in the boat before you get tired of it and want to get back on foot. Everything about the game was just masterfully done.

I'm not asshole enough to bitch about all the choices in the list, but come on. Did anyone enjoy the boat levels in Half-Life 2? At all?

I think HL2 had plenty of flaws and was overall a good, but gimmicky game on a very shiny engine (for its time). But geh, the greatest of all time title is stuck to it like it is to Deus Ex or Baldur's Gate II. Can't be helped.

They were fine IMO.

Hey BN, this reminded me of your unfinished favourite games list. Another one for the graveyard?

I don't think you should even post what some snotty "critics" say at all. To me, they're the least respected profession, along with astrologers...saying all kinds of bullshit personal opinions they have and we are left to just say: "gee, I must be a fuckin moron when it comes to understanding what things are great, they're tha fuckin' professionals after all".

Fuck all of them bitches.

It’s a completely pointless survey (aren’t the all). If it was broken up into age groups, then maybe you might get a more accurate result as to what different people prefer to play, but really this a just a marketing exercise for PC Gamer.

So let’s do one too…the administrators can choose the so called top 30 PC games and make a survey…the people here will vote and whola the “NMA greatest top 30 Admin chosen games of all time”. Or can a survey here take up to 50 games? Any interest… :look:

In the December issue PC Gamer gave its game of the year awards. Dragon Age: Origins LOST to a Super Mario game. I pretty much lost faith in their ability to judge games after that one.

Great! I hate that POS.

BTW, that survey makes me fell old and unwanted anymore in the world of gaming. Like if you return home just to find your wife having sex with a younger man.

Fallout 3, I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish, but Fallout 2 has to be the greatest game of all time. OF ALL TIME!!!11!!eleven!

Are you saying Super Mario games are bad? :(

COD MW 2 in the 6 place  .....you have to be fucking kidding me, and they put the first one too (11), this list and the people that make it know nothing about PC game

and half life is a good game but not the best game on the PC

Wow that is fucked up considering that the first one is phenomenally better than the second. So...fuck this list.

Are you saying Super Mario games are PC games :?

We're to blame for this. While all the eye-candy addicts are voting for mediocre games (mostly. Deus Ex made it! Yay!) we old farts are sitting in a figerative darkened room bitiching. I think most of us are also old and mature enough not to actully care what sites like PC 'Gamer' think. They've been wrong on so many games over the years.

Anyway, why bother to look at it anyway? You know that half you won't like, and a third you won't know.

The only one I look at is http://www.gamerankings.com/. Has all the old games on there, PC and Console, dating back to about '91-'92.

Take a look at this, and compare to PC Gamer's

You can make statistics tell you anything you want, as long as you know how. My first lesson in Statistics class at Uni. :)
