Fallout 3 on console?

Excessive

First time out of the vault
According to ZeniMax Website, Fallout 3 is coming for both PC's and next generation consoles. The text under Fallout 3 image says:

"Fallout 3
On PC and next
generation consoles."

I suppose it is time for us to be hopeless now.

Could be worse. Considering who we're dealing with here, the console release has been accepted as a sad inevitability from day 1. This "latest development" may not be good news by any stretch of the imagination, but it's no cause for despair.

At least, it's no cause for despair deeper than any you may already have been languishing in.

What? Just now? You mean this hasn't already been known for years?

Because, y'know, it has;
You've confirmed that Fallout 3 is definitely coming to PC. Can you clarify console plans?
Pete Hines: Our intention is to do a multiple platform title. Which platforms that will be, it's too early to say.

My only concern when it comes to consoles is Xbox Achievements.
I feel that one of the reasons that Oblivion was so dumbed down was so powergamers could collect all their achievements with one character (look at me! I'm the Archmage/head of Fighter's Guild/head of Dark Brotherhood/head of Thieves' Guild/Champion/Crusader of the Nine all at once!).
In terms of choice and consequences for actions, this is a really limiting factor. I just hope Bethesda will learn from this mistake.

dont expect that much from beth... ive liked morrowind, but oblivion was very disappointing, one of the reasons is that it has been made for console, then they did a very miserable conversion for pc... from my expirience, i can say that most of them dont learn from their mistakes, and beth is just one of them...

im expecting the worst...

Not all of us Xbox 360 players are Achievement whores, you know... I wouldn't mind if it took twelve different playthroughs of FO3 on console, all with different Traits and Karma influences to get just ten measly points, since that isn't a factor for me. I'd do it to play one of the (hopefully) best CRPG experiences on console in, well, ever.

I'm telling the truth. I'm wanting this game to wipe the floor with Morrowind, Oblivion, and all the other crap that has come out before it, just so people see that Fallout is an awesome experience, hopefully not dumbed down too much. I mean, since I already have a 360, I'd like to get $60 worth of awesomeness or garbage, rather than the $350 or so it'd take to upgrade my computer to play Fallout 3 on PC, if Beth gives FO a complete 'Pimp My Ride!'-worthy makeover (all bells and whistles, little change in the inner workings).

Wait, you want Fallout 3, made by Bethesda, to wipe the floor with Morrowind and Oblivion - also made by Bethesda?

Yeah, pretty much. I know, an odd request, but I'm more thinking of their newly owned franchise walloping the crap out of their past offerings. Less of the same. :P

Well at least i won't have to buy a new computer, from the looks of VB a new GFX card and i'd of been good to go. owell.

Anyone know what the system requirements of VB were going to be?

Don't think Bethesda will wipe its own franchise with Fallout 3. Afterall, Fallout was belongs to Interplay, not Bethesda. IF, they really fucked up, they can just sell the license to other company.

If it is going to be released for the consoles too, we might as well forget about the top-down-angled camera that most of us wish to see the game in.

Console means either 1st person or the GTA type 3rd person.

Good night to the fallout era. hmpf.

I'm not famous for being particularly optimistic, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that I'm agreeing with you completely here.

I play console games and I play PC games. I've been doing this for as long as I've played video games. There hasn't been a single case of there ever being a game for both platforms where the PC version hasn't been neutered. Story, control, interface...everything suffers when a game is developed with consoles in mind.

Like I said, I am a console gamer. However, it somewhat shames me to admit this. Look at the majority of console gamers and their favourite games. These are the people that Beth are probably going to market their bastardization to.

That's extremely depressing, considering all of Fallout's current fans are PC gamers.

Wow. This is quite an untrue statement. I've been into Fallout since around 2000, and yet I'm a console gamer, as well. Well, at least, in my interpretation of the phrase, which means plays consoles moreso than computer games. Get yer facts straight. Not all gamers that are fans of Fallout are PC gamers. :P

Bullshit. Everyone who has played Fallout is by definition a PC gamer.

When I said I was a console gamer, I meant in addition to being a PC gamer. I definitely play PC games more than I do console games.

Well, then, I guess I'm a PC gamer then. Well, I'll just go back to catching 'em all on my new DS, then. :P

I'll be buying it on the console (Xbox360) seeing my PC didn't handle Oblivion, so there is so very little chance it will run Fallout 3. If I did have a decent PC, then PC it would be.
