Fallout 3 puppet merchandising?

If you ever wondered what "franchise prostitution" means, now you know.

Please excuse me while I vomit.

How do you figure it's any different than any other major game? Buy this mag and get a new mini pet, preorder here and get a new armor dye kit, buy the CE and get a new mount...this is just another in a long line of the status quo...

but I want the puppet!

Seriously? Because, err, it doesn't even remotely look like Vault Boy.

You could probably ask someone with a bit of skill in Arts & Craft to sew up a better one.

that's the whole point it's not always supposed to look like the actual character it's always off with puppets....how do you not know this.

Sorry to offend your high knowledge of handpuppets or something, but I thought cartoon characters would probably look like themselves in handpuppet form.

I think the term for when they don't is "off-model"?

Heck, Vault Boy is mostly off-model so far.

Yep, it looks more like Todd, but with blonde hair. :|

you know, I have the same feeling about some ingame pictures of the vault boy too :)

maybe they really redesigned em to look like Todd? :)

Man, talk about going overboard with souvenirs. This game has seen shirts, lunchboxes, bobbleheads, nuka-cola bottles, Pip-boy replicas, now puppets and bottle openers. I don't know if that's standard for high-profile games, since I don't follow all of them this closely, but this overkill feels pretty tacky to me.

About Vault Boy's look, I'd say there's something off about him in most depictions by Bethesda (especially the combat pop-ups), though this might be due to my dislike of their abusing the poor fella and slapping him just about everywhere. Still, with the puppet they seem to be emulating Penny Arcade's rendition, what with that before/after pic, big nose and all, so it figures that it looks different from the classic clear lines style.

Ya the tip having his little blonde curl and the main body of it a blue jumpsuit, the main package it comes in is a picture of the Kama Sutra Master perk....Shit I just help give Bethesda an idea for some more swag.
