and PC Gamer UK 90% (Excellent dialogue, combat, depth and minigames, but MQ is shortish and it's easy to miss things if you're not paying attention).
Minigames?

Did I miss something?

Yes, mini games. The hacking minigame (for Computer skill) and lockpicking minigame (for picking locks) have been confirmed for many months now. They're going to be very irritating. Err... for those who will play the game.
Oh....

I sort of assumed by minigames, they meant that there was, like, an Arcade Room somewhere.

and LEVEL giving it a 10/10

LEVEL is here too, and although they were somewhat reserved in their preview, I'm almost sure it will get a perfect score now. In other words, LEVEL sucks here too, as well as the other 2-3 gaming magazines.

It's now really rewarding just to explore the world that's been built."
From what I've read, you can wander down some dangerous dungeon off of the beaten track, and at the end of it you find a handful of caps and some low level loot. Rewarding indeed.

I don't really see this as a problem as long as it is balanced with dungeons where you get good loot. I don't like the idea of always knowing I'm gonna find a humongous treasure at the end of every dungeon.

I'm not sure I like the whole idea of dungeons and treasure in a Fallout game, on the other hand. we had Vault 15, the Glow and the military bases in the old games though.

Yeah it would be nice to see a mixture of bad loot and good loot, but from what the review said (PSM3), it seemed to me that the loot he got sucked compared to how hard the battles in the dungeon were. If you get low level loot for low level dungeons than it would be fine. In Fallout, you get a leather armor in V15, but combat armor and a plasma rifle in the Glow. The rewards have got to be worth the effort in any part of a game IMO. Reminds me of the reason I stopped going into the dungeons in Oblivion, a very difficult lock is picked by my low level sneaky thief, and I get a pewter mug and five gold coins. All this after spending 30 minutes painstakingly sneak killing many bad guys.

Also, I would not consider the dungeons that you list in Fallout truly dungeons. Hell, in the Glow, you didn't even need to fire your weapon once (pretty sure you can turn off the robots). Sierra Army Depot you only needed to kill the outside defenses. I'm pretty sure in the military base you didn't need to kill anyone, except in Fallout 2, but that place was sort of there as an easter egg. I just think the whole idea of a dungeon is of pure fighting with a treasure chest at the end. Hopefully this is not what beth is doing. The fallout "dungeons" were more than just that.

yeah, definitely. I don't like using the words "dungeon" and "treasure" because even though I'm willing to bet that FO3's "dungeons" are more actual dungeons than those in FO1+2 I still don't think (and really really hope) they aren't only about killing enemies and getting loot.

I also remember getting a bit pissed off in Oblivion because it felt like the loot was never worth it. I think that the treasure there also leveled with you, just like the enemies. difficulty on locks didn't.

Swedish PC Gamer gave Fallout 3 a score of 81% (not even worth wearing the 'excellent game' tag) and I found the review to be a pretty good read actually. If people would be interested I could try to sum it up with a bunch of translated quotes and such and post it somewhere in the forums.

Huh, for some reason I remember that as a different magazine.

In that case no, apokalypze, it's already avaiable here

I wasn't too surprised to hear that since it's almost november by now, hehe. I guess I don't have to bother then. Btw, Was that all that was provided by mr Tomaten or was there more too it? The review was 6 pages long and imo there was a lot more relevant stuff in it than what was posted.

...Because it's not cheesy when Bastila gets behind in the ship, it's classy and brilliant.
KOTOR? What do you mean 'gets behind in the ship'?
That part where the bad guy stays fighting her and the door closes and whatnot.

I hate to sound like I'm someone who works for Bethesda, but why does it seem like most everyone here is completely disregarding these excellent reviews? They make me even MORE hyped for this game, and they pretty much confirm that it is a very good product.
It seems very unlikely that every magazine that has reviewed the game to date would be completely wrong, and that Fallout 3 is indeed a CRAP product.

It is a CRAP Fallout product.

Also, relying on reviews is ridiculous, as history easily shows. See Oblivion, which received near perfect marks. But when the first Fallout 3 previews rolled in, suddenly all the obvious faults in Oblivion that had never been mentioned before had been fixed in Fallout 3.

I hate to sound like I'm someone who works for Stephenie Meyer, but why does it seem like most everyone here is completely disregarding these excellent Amazon five-star reviews? They make me even MORE hyped for these books, and they pretty much confirm that it is a very good product.
It seems very unlikely that every tween girl that has reviewed the series to date would be completely wrong, and that <s>Alan Moore's</s> Stephenie Meyer's Twilight is indeed a CRAP product.

My sarcasm meter is completely broken... Or malfunctioning at least. kikomiko is being sarcastic, right?

Because if not... dooooooooooooooooode.

:EDIT:

Seriously, like, dude? Like, wtf?!
