No, XBOX Live Silver is free and let's you download demos, trailers, etc. I guess the gold service you pay for basically just allows you to play online with others.

So if you pay extra to obtain gold level, you lose the priviledge to download anything? Something's fishy here.

no no, gold just adds the ability to play most of the popular games against other players, on top of whatever the silver plan provides.

That teaches Bethesda that there are many more Fallout fans that they think. Better suit our demands.

Sounds kinda like the Bethesda Fallout 3 fans who are hiding in the shadows, reading all these but never write a response, and are waiting for the day that Fallout 3 will be released so that they can come out into the light and give it all the cropped up praise they are holding down.

Again it has been made clear that Internet and Forums do not speak for the majority who are actually quite silent.

I'm not a Beth fan and actually am rather pessimistic about Fallout 3. But I stay silent, on this forum anyway, as my point is usually already made by loads of posters. I could hammer it one more time but it would be kind of a waste of time and useless.

Now, am I representative of this silent majority ? Dunno but I don't feel any excitement even on forums far less hardcore than NMA. And "curiously" there is one argument that appears to make consensus between optimistics and pessimistics : Fallout 3 won't be the blast the originals were.

Lest we forget, there are fans of the franchise that lurk in the dark corners of the Earth, ones who actively read these forums but are too afraid to state their opinion, or simply have nothing to say. When the time comes, they will all assemble as one, and suddenly you've got millions of people that are dissapointed.

Bethesda may be in for a rude awakening here. Remember Fallout tactics ? It was the most pre-ordered game in Interplay's history but after it was made, a lot of people sent it back and asked for refunds. Initial interest is good but not the be all and end all.

well...there are a lot of Oblivion fan boys out there and they all will probably say : "oh boy ...another RPG game from bethesda , this time with guns !!!"
this just means that beths fallout is gonna sell a lot .
