Fallout 4 Season Pass Steam Reviews

"The Season Pass is gona be bigger now! We promise! That's why we doubled the price, you don't have to thank us"

*Proceeds to release furniture packs that are mostly vanilla assets already enabled by mods*

I think the most ridiculous thing is that there are people who think those DLC are amazing.

"Contraptions Workshop: A Near Perfect DLC!"

That's actually not that far off from the actual title.

Bethesda really had to make this DLC an absolute pile of dumbed down garbage to earn "Mostly Negative" reviews. It took them a lot of work to earn those negative reviews. They could have just released Skyrim reskinned with a Fallout aesthetic and it would probably get "Overwhelmingly Positive." Instead, they really really worked at ruining the Fallout franchise with Fallout 4.

They may have sold a lot more, but so do fast food chains compared to fancy restaurants. Their reputation in my opinion is permanently gone after seeing how they handled Fallout 4 and its DLC. Never seen a franchise ruined so badly.

If Call of Duty developers took over Fallout, I would have more confidence than if Bethesda makes another Fallout after this lazy cash grab offline MMO garbage.

Honestly if you were dumb enough to buy a season pass you deserve no sympathy.
I'd give a little sympathy considering none of the previous Bethesda games had 50% of the DLC being Workshop contraptions. I don't think anyone expected that. I did not expect them to put so much focus on Workshop DLC given the kinds of DLC New Vegas, Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 had.

They did Horse Armor once and that was it. Now we have $25 of Horse Armor.

But yea pre-ordering and Season Passes are stupid.

I'll never have sympathy for someone who pre-orders something that they have zero information about. Like, you're buying the promise of DLC. Often having no clue what the DLC is gonna be, bethesda just proved what the worst outcome of this could be.

I'm actually semi glad I got it when I did because £30 for two DLCs and 4 packs of mods I dont use is slightly less upsetting than £50 for it.

They nailed it, they deserve a medal. It's basically a Horse Armour 2.0 but even more painful since it also a significant part of big lies about settlement mechanic being totally optional business. Yes it's a lie since if it's so optional, season pass wouldn't being 5/6 about crafting and settlements.

If it was 100% Optional, then the literal second/third quest of the game wouldn't be related to building.

If Nuka World happens to have as much content as Har Harbor(more or less) has than i would call initial 30$ deal was actually reasonable.

Two big story DLCs plus two decent crafting DLCs (Vault and Automatron) then two rather pointless crafting DLCs for 30$ isn't a bad deal. Especially considering Far Harbor and Nuka World costs 55$ together.

However for 50$? Yeah you can fuck off Bethesda.

Which is pretty much what Steam Reviewers are saying. Reading the Steam reviews of the Season Pass is hilarious and sad.

"All three Bethesda DLC = 20 hours of VERY mediocre content = $50

One CD PROJEKT RED DLC = 30 hours and feels like a new game = $21.99

This is the last time I buy a season pass from Bethesda."

The word "Scam" comes up like 5 times in the first page of reviews alone.

Pretty glad I didn't buy the season pass when I had the chance; thank god for negative bias.

I'm pretty surprised Bethesda didn't flood the game with DLCs, even shitty ones; I expected them to try and make up for the lack of quality with quantity, but we didn't even get that.

It's just so all incredibly lazy.

Well based on the official response to complaints about the new DLC, I don't think anyone at Bethesda actually understands Fallout fans don't like what they are doing with Fallout. The statement leads me to believe that they think we should be thanking them for more Workshop DLC.

I mean their marketing people are still bragging about how Fallout 4 is their biggest game launch ever, instead of acknowledging it's their lowest rated game ever made.

Would you mind giving a link to the statement? I'm curious to see what their response in full was.

I've only picked up two season passes/expansions passes in my life.

One was Fallout 4 which I got for the cheaper price, I had at least hoped that Bethesda, a company who I have been saying has made decent DLC for the past few years, would give us something decent again with F4.
You know something is weird when on Launch, I was looking forward to the DLC more than the game (call me an idiot or whatever, but I was really looking forward to seeing what Bethesda could do).
The second was Witcher 3, and that was after both Expansions came out.

I've yet to play Witcher 3, but five hours in, and I already know which game has a soul.

Even the smallest side quests in Witcher 3 have some aspect to them that makes it very obvious that someone made an effort with it. You find a note that has a deep lore and backstory of a monster, that not only tells you the ways you can defeat it, but also tells you it's history and more. Then you track it down, and everything in the environment is setup exactly as described in the bestiary and notes.

Contrast this with "I've got something a bit different for you this time. Another settlement needs our help."

More content ≠ good content

They could have as much content as Far Harbor, doesn't mean it'll be any good. Sounds like another ripoff DLC.

That goes without saying of course. Can't say i'm impressed with the trailer though Far Harbor had a terrible trailer too and i still enjoyed Far Harbor.

Since i consider Far Harbor as a decent DLC because it has a contained story without bold claims like "save the world, provide the water of life to U.S.A!". There were no artificial moral dilemmas yet most peaceful outcome required few moral compromises. It was no PS:Torment but for an ARPG i say Far Harbor is good.

So if Nuka World turns out something like Far Harbor then i won't feel bad for my 30$...

One issue is that they actually think their content is worth more than $50. They're responding with things like "Why you mad that we're making more content?" without recognizing that the crap they're selling is the kind of thing that should be a free update or a free mod and isn't what Fallout fans actually want in the first place.

They think this Workshop garbage is quality content to the point that it is 50% of their Season Pass, and they don't understand why Fallout fans are upset.

I bought the season pass cheap from G2A so for me i don't see much of a problem with the cost. haven't tried any DLC yet but so far it looks like the crafting ones are bad for me but the rest have it's uses.

Also the steam reviews as a whole is a joke. Pretty sure i made a post dedicated to that crap a while ago :P

Edit: I am that kind of a "moron" that buys all the dlc's for all the Fallout games + Skyrim.... Most of them have been good but there are obviously some major trash in the bin.
