"Fallout: Between Good & Evil" announcement

Yep, so far the best GFX looking mod in production. Too bad you guys got problems with the personnel.

Hmm.. I already considered to offer me but then I always remember that I also have still own ideas for fallout mods... and I made only bad experiences with mod teams in the last 5 years.. :/

Yeah, as for visual part, the mod will be (if it ever gets released) something extraordinary. I needn´t adapt my gamedesign ideas strictly to original graphic sets and can look into post-war Arizona more to the deep, and count on some unique places (example #1, example #2), which is great.

So if someone could help out us eg. with an art converting, I would be pretty grateful (and would send him a Blender source files, naturally).

Lexx: why are you so skeptical? :wiggle:

Everybody has problems with personnel. It's just that as hobbyists, we can't eliminate them. It's impossible to set any deadlines for dialogues writers, artists and others - they are very proud and don't accept any sign of offence, even suggestions like "will you please finish that piece of art you started a year ago" or "will you please create this simple, standard, boring and completely unimaginative quest item instead of _another_ car" are met with aggression :violent:

Heh :) .
I think that it should be posted in the Newbs Guide to NMA as an explanation to why asking NMA to make a "real Fallout 3" is unreasonable :) .

Oh lord, I can totaly understand that... I am waiting for some simple, standard, boring and completely unimaginative scenery objects since some years... until I stopped inquiring it from the person.

One-man armies don't. Right Lich?

Jokes aside (although it wasn't a joke all the way), each modding team should have at least one all-rounder. Anyway, I see two of you (Karel, Jesterka) are the seniors in the team. What do you do?

You were asking the wrong dude, dude!

Yes, I think so too... but with this people you can learn to become an allrounder... because you have make the most alone.

I'm the translator (right now mostly design documents, web page, tools and limited amount of dialogues) and I check other people's translations. I also have a role of "IT support", which mainly means writing tutorials and making sure that our server, webpage, development tools etc. work as intended. My Cold War and Civil Defence hobby is useful too (last shelter expedition - in English soon)

Jester(ka) is the Boss, he takes care of design documents, sometimes he writes dialogues / floats and checks maps.

One of our multi-purpose people slowly left the team in last several months

From the point of my view: I´m responsible for all the basic game content, including mythology, main plot, locations, factions, CNPCs... If I decide that we must add two-headed monkey and five-headed brahmin called Chris Avellone, there is a big probability that all of this will be included (don´t worry, I´ve ridden the Bible at least hundred times :deal: ). So if someone or something would suck in this connection, I´m the fall guy. I have written large majority of designs and also working like an ordinary text writer (not leading the dialog part). Mostly I´m spending a lot of time by lurking under a stone and seeking for a new people. Somewhile I´m working with mapper, if some crisis occurs or if the original design is just too crazy.

Karel is my technical half, as he wrote. At this point he made a great piece of work after his arrival. Accountable for english translation. Had some good tips about real shelters, game economy too. On the top of it, he´s very proffesional and responsible, which is (from my actual experience) oddly important.

Concerning new blood, I don´t think the situation is so alarming, there is about 10-15 good, constantly working people, inclusive of 5 programmers (surprisingly really the smallest problem we have). Just need a couple of guys able to graphics convert and/or dialogue writing. And, you know, better more than less... :wiggle:

I've got nothing important to contribute besides saying: keep up the good work :-)

BGE is really shaping up nicely and it's good to see that more and more people think about making their own ideas reality instead of just ranting about how FO3 will turn out.

Nothing wrong with complaining itself, but a good next step would be to try to do actually better and show that old school gameplay can still be more fun than a Fallout FPS/RPG hybrid.

Ohh, life is good. Shattered Destiny is nearly finished, Mutants Rising has a demo, and my personal favorite, BGE is advancing too. I don't want to be indiscreet, but do you plan to make a demo, from like two or three locations? That would be orgasmic. Good luck, guys.

Thanks for a nice words...

A demo? Sorry, but rather no than yes... Demo is like a retarder, firstly we want to move up the progress as far as possible until summer and focus on some recruitment (writers, map designers, artists, ...). Ask again in winter.

A new 50s eye candy - The Avrocar.

Made by Nyibelunger. Will be added in a Christmas BGE update soon. Any ideas what to prefer in that update?

1) 3d model
2) 'black & white' art
3) normal art; finale by Ghostus
4) normal art; finale by Nyibelunger

Note for NMA admins - please don't post any of these pictures to the news section / title page before we prepare everything for this update (should be on Wednesday or so).

And I confess, the update could have been out yesterday, but I have no time to translate a dialogue of one of main characters which will be in the update, so it is postponed probably till Wednesday or so (exams at the university).

I think it was very obvious from the start.
