Fallout Developers Profile - Chris Jones

With the help of the ever-loving Ausir, we present the Fallout Developers Profile of Chris Jones, noting that this is not the lead programmer of Fallout 1, but the artist on Fallout 2.
Tell us a little about your role in the making of Fallout 1/2/3(Van Buren)/Tactics ?
I playtested Fallout 1 and was blessed with the chance to enter the industry artistically on Fallout 2. Most of what I did for F2 involved painting character death animations with DPaint and DAnimator frame by frame using the selected color palette. It was tedious work, but it was fun work, and it was good on the job training.

What’s your favourite Fallout memory?
I was pretty entertained by the storylines in Fallout, and the fact that playing the game was so open ended. I was so happy to be actually making art for games at the time it would be pretty hard to think of anything that WASN'T a great memory.
Link: Fallout Developers Profile - Chris Jones.

I like how, at the end of the interview, he thanks everyone for giving a shit about what he has to say....

But, since nobody responded to this article even though it has been up so long, I guess not very many people really do give a shit..

no way, man. i've read every single one of these things like some kind of nerd-porn. i just don't always respond about 'em.

he seems to really like Fallout 3.
As cheesy as this may sound, I was actually most impressed with Fallout 3 for exceeding my expectations of the series. In fact I just played the PITT last night and it was awesome!

But a good read overall.

Of course we give a shit, Chris.

And stay the fuck away from my mom's house, motherfucker!

So...how many former Fallout devs liked FO3 ?
That'd be Jesse Heinig, Chris Jones, Jason Anderson..who did I forget?

Not many of 'em have given an opinion really.

I'd love to do a round-up and ask a lot of Fallout devs their opinion, but the shitty thing is that because of how the game industry rotates, the only ones who want to give their opinions are the ones with a positive opinion. Chris Taylor noted before Fallout 3's release that he'd only give his opinion publicly if he likes it, and we haven't heard from him since. That's just how it works. The only ones you'll hear is the ones that like it and I can't blame 'em, the industry is so incestuous you never know who you'll end up working with.

Am I missing something or should it rather say noting, from to note?

Any others let me know.
What? I mean, it's all there and works for everything if you switch www to archive. If you mean if any others are broken, then they're ALL broken. All the content can only be accessed through the archive currently.

I editted this into the news archive sticky in this forum, but can't make one for Content Comments... Can you use admin powers to copy it or make a link to it there or something?

edit:
Also, changing any of them individually is a bad idea when they're all broken, since it will just screw up any automated solution that could be implemented in the future.

Ok. I won't mess with it then.

I updated the info in the archive sticky and put it up on the slide-show. Hopefully we'll avoid future problems like this.
The slide-show is pretty solid now actually and probably shouldn't be changed at all unless some new supermod comes out.
