Hey have you guys even considered makeing a Total mod for Fallout, like a new game. How much of the game have you guys cracked. It seems like you can make maps now. So you must be close to cracking all the file types

Ah. Well, we have been working on our separate maps, I'm making an old warehouse and a trade center. Neo is working on some weird complex. As for the others, MatuX is working on programs and everyone else seems to have been swallowed by the creature from the black lagoon.

But the truth is Smack...

The fact is Smack that www.fallout.ru and TeamX (www.fallout.ru/teamx/en) DOES have more information than your site. They have the format of nearly every file in the game, they created the first Undatters and FRM viewers, and now they're working on a visual map editor for Fallout.

Your site does have some good tutorials, but still, Fallout.ru has a lot of goods.

One of the things what American mod teams do wrong it's what whey don't sea a big picture. Making a map in the hexeitor it's a lot of work but it's not achiwe anything bigger of 30 seconds of interest from people who download this map do you think what a month of yours hard work worth it ? I don't. Why for instant you don't spend this time on making textual map editor you probably can finish it faster then we are our full graphical editor and you will have something useful for all the moders and you will be THE FIRST.

Well, the thing is, we have one programmer and 3 people working at any given time. They have 20 people working and 5 programmers. Can you see what I'm getting at?

if you made a map editor... everyone can use it & maps are gunna be churning out from everyone...

Proven you can do it. Also, programs like the one Team-X is working on can miss out certain parts of code, or mess up the map. So if you know how to edit maps, then you can go back and see what went wrong.

So? Would they be well thought out with their own scripts and storylines? No.

To who ? I believe you right now.

It's right but only to the certain degree you don't need to change 200 tiles if you can change 1 whey all the same.

most of them will be crap but some of them will be pretty good


And in the end try not to be offended by my advise but I believe what you just wasting you time. You can spend it in more productive ways help MatuX with his ACM station for instants it's allot more beneficial and we even don't have something like this in development so you and you team will be a top experts on sound in fallout
 
This is Good

It is good that people are trying to make maps, and map programs. once it is easier to make maps, people can start working on small fallout mods, and im sure eventualy larger mods will be done, I am sure that is the hole poin of tring to crack all the file types. Its ok to work on the sound, but I would rather be able to build maps. I am not a programer, I know almost nothing about code, file types. I will be taking a C++ course soon, but it is very basic. Thats why I jsut love the people that spend there time creating programs to help people make maps.

Im going to try and hex edit, the map and all that stuff, once I get my Fallout two back.
Does anyone know any good sites with help on map editing?

Sorry, Xotor, the first undatter was created by the rip warez guys from Razor, the second one was created by TUF Team (actually The Mod Squad), and the FRM converter was created by the TUF Team, too.

Okay, okay, guys, time to relax!

We (at least me), don't want to start a race to see who is the first one to make a TC or the first one to completly research all the Fallout stuff.

We know that we are doing this for FUN, because we like it, and because this is a HOBBY. I love programming, I love Fallout, then, I love to make programs for Fallout to make all the research or modding easier for everyone.

Another fact is that, we (or at least me, again), are doing this for PUBLIC, not for private use, not to convert us on somekind of virtual gods that can create mods for Fallout using magic.

And, MMM, Grendelin, our leader, is the one who is gonna say what is productive or not. As far as I know, every project idea first goes to him, and he say if it's okay or not.
I have put my confidence in him to know that his decisions are good.

Again. This is NOT a competition, this is just for FUN and for the public.
We can start the competition when Fallout is already researched and people could start making his own TCs.
