Fallout: New Orleans trademark registered in Europe

I joined pretty much a week before NV was released, so I kind of saw the end of an era there.
But for a couple of years, it was a very different place, it fel closer to the RPGCodex but not as rough.
I would have liked to have been around earlier, see what some of the early guy were like, but alas, we're here now.
I would have loved to be in the days of the Great Schism, where brother fought brother fought newcomers over Fallout 3 and the future of the Fallout games. We know how that ended though.

Yeah, I will say this community is very much like the societies of Fallout however, we're trying to rebuild a fanbase after the great apocalypse of the shutting of Interplay and Black Isle, which in turn brought about the destruction with Bethesda.
New Vegas was just a question that was answered.

In many ways, Bethesda shot themselves in the foot letting Obsidian make Fallout NV.

Fallout New Vegas introduced a hope, however slight it was for a better Fallout. Let's hope Obsidian creates that hope another time.

That's probably the part that hurts the most: Hope that a good Fallout game is not a lost cause yet. There will always be that nagging feeling thanks to the feats of New Vegas that more can be done with the franchise but it would probably never be fulfilled (at least on Bethesda's end and not helped by the legions of fanboys that praise mediocrity and attack critique because they claim to be 'true' fans that love everything despite said mediocrity).

Kain (from Legacy of Kain) sums up hope nicely as that terrible illusion.

If Vegas was a new hope, then bethesda game studios striked back, there should be the return of Obsidian. Especially with Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky on board.

Hm, Chris' comments on Bethesda always make me feel as though the New Vegas controversies made a bigger rift between Obsidian and Bethesda then we've been made to believe.
They had to lay off employees, friends probably, because of not getting the royalties, right?

Hoping for the best.

I don't know, Chris seems to have maintained a good relationship with Bethesda as he is working on the new Prey which will be published by Bethesda.

I suspect he is doing this partly because he wants to help work on a Fallout 5 or so.

Considering his comments on Fallout in our interview, he seems to be more interested in Fallout Shelter than Fallout 4.

I know the guy probably doesn't have a great deal of time to spend playing games, but it is rather telling that he would rather play a mobile game than DLC for a full fledged AAA game.

So I guess he isn't exactly too happy, but if it gives him the chance to work on a future Fallout, he'll go for it.

Maybe this could have been a part of why Chris fell out with Josh Sawyer and left obsidian or so.

I'm setting my third Cthulhu Armageddon book in "Last Orleans" because of this rumor. The idea of Fallout in New Orleans is so awesome that even if it's true, it captured my imagination.
