Fallout NV lore

Considering New Vegas is pretty much a direct sequel to Fallout 1 and 2, you'd be better off playing them first before beating the game.
 
Speaking of Marcus... I thought it would be really cool to have a part in Jacobstown's quest line where instead of Marcus helping in town, you could convince him to come journey the wastes with you and help other mutants in the Mojave. And Dr. Henry would take his place as the leader of the settlement

It is technically not a bad idea, but perhaps it is better to give old companions like Marcus a rest now so that new ones can shine.
The assortment of companions in Fallout New Vegas was in general very good, some were a little bland like Boone or Lily but they were still very useful and I rather liked Veronica and Arcade Gannon.

Arcade Gannon is a very likeable guy you would hang out with on a Saturday night, showing that not all homosexual people are stereotypes and can be regular and even boring persons. Compare that to the homosexual person I met in Fallout 4 who comes over as incredibly needy, I godhonestly have become sick and tired of him asking psychic lady (another one on my list of hated FO4 people) to contact his dead boyfriend/

IIRC, Arcade Ganon never expressed his sexuality explicitly. His homosexuality is just part of his character, and you must actively seeking out to know it. In short, Aracade Ganon's characters isn't defined by his sexuality, unlike many homosexual characters that written by other developers. It's ironic that putting their sexuality as their defining trait actually makes them into a stereotype character.

He alludes to it indirectly a couple of times if you talk to him about himself:
"Right now, I'm sure you're asking yourself, "Why hasn't some lucky man scooped this bachelor off his feet?"
"There have been some good men along the way, but lovers make poor confidants."

I don't think he ever comes out and says "I'm gay" as though you need to know or he needs your permission. The most direct way you can find out is when you are trying to recruit him, you can automatically succeed with the "Confirmed Bachelor" perk by trying to flirt with him.
