Fallout- Old Glory

OOC: You're right my bad. But I have nothing else to add right now so someone else should post.

OOC: On it, I just wanted to give everyone else a chance.

Doctor Mayers looked at one of Jacob's venom glands, then back to him. "Well you're correct, I've never seen something like this before, but the price you're asking for is still completely outrageous." He said, over the whine of a malfunctioning autodoc.

"Look, if Cazadors are here you're going to be needing a lot of antivenom for anyone who even manages to survive an encounter. So my price remains the same. 200 caps for each of the five sacs, plus another 500 for the egg. 1500 caps, total, minus the supplies I need from you of course. So with a checkup, the rad-x, and the mentats you're paying me a total of 1300. I think that's worth the long term survival of a lot of people don't you? Not to mention you'll have the only antivenom within 50 miles! People would pay you a fortune for it." Jacob explained. He shot a look at the squeaking machine, it sounded like several parts were rubbing up against each other, quick fix for someone with the right know-how, but from what he had been seeing it was obvious the town didn't have anyone to be a dedicated mechanic.

"I'm not going to take advantage of people who need my help! I ask payment only for additional supplies, and what I need to get by myself." Mayers shot at Jacob

"Well you either get the stuff at the price I just laid out for you or I'll find a doctor with less hesitance at making a buck off the misfortune of others!"
Jacob said, glaring at the doctor. For a long time the only sounds were the whine of the autodoc and the jet of GU-DR waiting nearby the door. Eventually Mayers sighed and got out a lock box.

"Damn you scavengers." He laid out the caps and supplies on the counter for Jacob to gather up. Once that was done Jacob motioned for GU-DR to approach, to which Mayers reacted with a sharp glare towards Jacob. "I told you that thing isn't coming into my clinic!"

"Shut the hell up, I'm sick of hearing that damn autodoc whine, and if you're not going to bother to fix such simple problem I will."
Jacob said, and strode past Mayers towards the autodoc.

"And what's that going to cost me?" Mayers spat at Jacob

"Not a thing, I'm fed up with the noise and I bet you are too, no one should have to endure that kind of torture."
Jacob said, removing the power source of the mechanical compartment and beginning to work. Leaving a very baffled doctor.

Greg took leave of the rest of the group before entering the inn.

"I have some business I need to conduct, so I'll see you all later."

He headed off to check out the town and found a spot to sit down where he wouldn't be out in the open and in the way. He took the Readius from his pocket and began talking to it.

"EVE can you locate this towns' clinic for me, if they have one."

EVE: One moment please. Calculating... Calculating...

Sometime EVE answered questions as fast as he could finish them. Other times it could take forever for her to respond. Particularly when asking for location data. Any remnants of technology that allowed for EVE to see was long since degraded from lack of care and maintenance, satellites reduce to just so much space junk their sentinel eyes obscured by age and damage.

EVE: Failure... Would you like me to try again?

"Yes scan again, take your time."

EVE: Recalculating... Commencing rescan of area... ... ...

"This is taking forever EVE I could search the whole town at this rate before your done."

EVE: You could try asking one of the locals for its location.

"..." Why hadn't he thought of that. This always happened, Greg always seemed to do things the hard way. Not because he wanted to, but because he always overlooked the easiest options.

Greg rose from the ground, brushed himself off, and located the nearest local.

"Excuse me sir. Would you be able to direct my to your town doctor?"

The man looked at Greg like he had never seen someone so polite, and knowing the wasteland he probably hadn't

Local:"Just head down this street and take the second right, you can't miss it. You'll be wanting Doctor Mayers."

"Thank you for your help." Greg said as he handed the man two caps for his trouble and headed to the town doc.

As he arrived Greg heard shouting, "I told you that thing isn't coming into my clinic!"...

He heard a man arguing with someone, and he recognize Jacobs voice.

Well I suppose it wasn't uncommon when it came to haggling that voices would be raised, Greg thought to himself as he stood just inside the door way not wanting to get involved or draw unnecessary attention to himself. There goes my plan to sell a few of my supplies to have enough for a hot meal.

Greg waited and watched Jacob work, hoping he'd still get a chance to sell a few of his wares.

Chameleon looked at the new man and replied;
"I'm a merc, and I am on a job. But right now, I want some chill time and it won't happen so fast when people like this won't take good advice. Anyway, you look like a Shaun. You a Shaun? Ya must be. So what you doing here then Shaun? Apart from asking questions to psychotic assassins." He sat and swallowed a special pill. Then he ordered a nice drink to wash it down.

Jacob continued to work, his mind absorbed in fixing the autodoc. He had a tendency to shut off the rest of the world when he tinkered. Fixing machines was something simple, a way to distract himself from the world he found himself living in. Machines were something consistent, and mostly uniform. He held out his hand towards GU-DR, asked for pliers, and then went back to work upon receiving them from the robot. Meanwhile, Dr. Mayers continued to eye the Mr. Gutsy with suspicion and disdain. When the robot extended a sensor to observe Greg entering, then retracted it upon discerning the identity of the new arrival. Dr. Mayers took note as well.

"Another new face, and I'm in no mood. Are you here to exploit my better nature as well? Because if you are I'm not interested, and you can just head right back out. If you need medical attention, that's another matter." The doctor said, obviously extremely annoyed with the scavenger currently elbow-deep in his autodoc.

Edward returned to the bar after about 10 minutes, and looked around. Jacob was gone, and Chameleon was talking to somebody, while drinking. Edward sat down to next to a young man dressed in combat gear, and ordered some whiskey.

"My names uh, my names Rick," Rick stuttered out, hoping not to trigger any anger from the stranger. He didn't think he could draw his gun before this guy could draw whatever other unlikely weapons he might have on his person. As Rick thought about this, Chameleon quickly swallowed a pill and ordered a drink. Must be some kind of chem addict, Rick thought. "Was that buffout?" he asked Chameleon.

"Rick huh? Well I'll call you Shaun if I'm ever in a bad mood. And if I am ever in a worse mood? I shall dub ya dead." Then after being asked if it was buffout he was taking, he quickly took offence and slammed his glass down on the counter. Better than whipping a gun out.
"You think I'm some damn addict?! Unfortunately, I can't eat normal food like the average human. I need this pills, and these are what keep me alive. Apparently the designers took these from something they were gonna use for astronauts. Though of course, you wouldn't know that. So please, do not mistake me for one of the lower class. Because I am not, one of the lower class. Consider yourself warned."
Of course, switching back, Chameleon remebered something of his mother. There was images of enclave, and of Arianna. But there was chems mixed in. Elizabeth, the mother who raised him. And she was an addict.

Designers, astronauts? Rick was a bit lost but felt it was best not to ask. He ordered a drink and took a seat. He checked his pouch to count his remaining caps, 8. This trip had run him dry.

"I was planning to offer you some basic medical supplies for caps, at a steal mind you, but if you're having none of it then that's the way it is." Greg said matter-of-factly.

He walked over to where Jacob sat hunched working with the autodoc.
"What seems to be the problem?"

(OOC: I'll let you be the voice of the doc since he's of your creation and I don't want to have him saying things OOC for him.)

"This man who is currently messing with my auto-doc has cleaned me out already, boy." Doctor Mayers said, exasperated. He shook his head and went into another room in the clinic to begin work on synthesizing an antidote to the cazador poison.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jacob was startled when Greg addressed him, and received a small shock for it. He yelped and yanked his fingers out of the autodoc, putting the offended finger into his mouth to nurse it. He immediately regretted this decision, as his oil covered finger tasted vile. He turned to Greg, sliding his tongue across his upper teeth to rid himself of the nasty flavor.
"Uh, squeaky wheel gets the oil they say. The servo-motors haven't been properly maintained, and they're whining. I'm just getting it oiled up and getting some of the wiring up to specs, it's an older model, and there were improvements made shortly before the Great War."
Edward turned to Chameleon and said,"Chameleon, I'm going to rent some rooms here, so we can stay here until the funeral. I'm only paying for my rooms, so could you go find the others and tell them if they want a place to sleep, they need to come to me and give me twenty bottle caps."
He then turned to back to his whiskey.
---------------------------------
David sat by Edward, drinking the same whiskey. He considered killing him then and there, but he reminded himself about the plan. Perhaps drinking whiskey only 10 minutes after taking Fixer wasn't the smartest thing to do, but it felt weird not having the constant need to take med-x anymore, and David found some peace of mind in alcohol. He heard his target talk about getting rooms at the inn. At least he knew where the group was staying. He downed the shot of whiskey, and ordered another one.
Chameleon glanced at Edward. He considered refusing, but then he thought it over and decided to complete the task. He might as well get some fresh air, so decided it best to oblige.
"Sure, but I wouldn't mind another glass when I get back." Then he set out and went to find the other mercs. Starting with Greg and Jacob, he found their location and walked in.
Dr. Mayers poked his head into the room at the sound of another person. For the third time someone from out of town was dropping in to his clinic, and at this point he was getting incredibly annoyed. However, he was tired of arguing and just went back to his new project.
Jacob in the meantime eyed his fellow mercenary. "Now this isn't something I ever expected to see." Jacob said, standing up to get something out of GU-DR. "Doesn't a visit to a doctor go against your whole 'mysterious masked man' routine Chameleon? And as far as I know you didn't take any hits on the way here. Or do you just want some chems?"
Chameleon glared at Jacob.
"Peh! As if! Chems are for losers, so do not mistake me for one! Anyhow, the boss wants to letcha know that if ya got 20 caps, theres an opportunity for a good room. I call that a chancd to regroup."
Then he glanced to the doctor.
"What you looking at?"
