"Fallout: Shattered Destiny 2" announcement

So, I finally started the scripting phase. Wrote my first Fallout 2 script since ~3 years. :ugly:

Will add all map scripts now, then continue with the more complex stuff. First target is to get the main quest playable. Shouldn't be hard. If I am in working mood, could take one or maximum two weeks. After this, the game will be filled up with more content, which will most likely need some more time then... :>

In the last month, I've build approx 35 new maps. They still need tweaks here and there and the NPCs added, but at least the basics are done, which I find good. Except three or four other maps, every map is done in its shape.

Especially for the new maps I'm waiting the most, I find your maps always very beautiful (I'm here talking about the SD1 and FOnline maps).

Also, I want to know how the story continues. :)

This is excellent news! Keep up the good work!

Love the rugs…they’re cool, but seriously I’m glad to see some of the artwork in RP being put to good use. Cheers Lexx.

Yeh, I took a lot inspiration and some graphics from the RP, because they are nice improvements. :) The rugs as example, i was like "wat!" when I first saw them. It was a must have. Heh.

I am also using the shadow graphics and your "black" box, to fill the borders of smaller maps.

I’m looking forward to seeing the creative ways in which these things will be used in your mod, have you made much new artwork yourself.

Yes, there is a lot new stuff. Nothing big and epic, but I've added details here and there. So far, nearly all needed ingame graphics are done. A few bigger things are still missing, but I am moving it a bit to the end.. it's not really needed yet.

In the NMA file section.

Also some status update on my next Fallout 2 mod: Yesterday I've finished to script 100% of the first part of the main quest and wrote approx 90% of the needed dialogues for this.

I have planned to finish scripting of part 2 from the main quest in max. one week. After this, it will be possible already to play through the game. When I've reached this phase, I start adding all the other quest stuff and fill up the locations. :)

Great, great news !

Are you still on the idea of a trilogy ?

And if so, how SD2 will be connected to SD1 (NPC references, world map, locations...) ?

Yes, a trilogy is still planned. But I am working on part 2 and 3 a bit ... different in the moment. I will explain it some time later.

SD2 will have a few connections to SD1, when it comes to NPCs and so will SD3. The worldmap will be different in SD2 and 3, same with all locations. You will not be able to play your character from SD1 in SD2 or 3, because I didn't used any of the scripts and stuff from SD1 (most of it was created when I still learned the main Fallout 2 scripting mechanics and is badly written).

Also between SD1, 2 and 3 are placed many years. So your character will 'age' from chapter to chapter.

I don't wanted to post any news until I've hit the next milestone. But I wrote a german article, where I posted a screenshot from my next Fallout 2 mod and as this screenshot is public now anyway, I can post it here as well:

It shows the entrance of a coal mine. Few details here and there are still missing, so it is work in progress.

Really nice map. Makes positive impression. I hope you realize your project soon.

It's not bad. It should interest people at least because this is most probably about to be finished one fucking day. :D

We worked up the coal mine pretty differently.

Looks good, but a question; from this shot it seems the res is very high, but the air duct on the mountain side is 'quite up there'... would it be visible on lower resolutions (the 'perfect' 1024x768, for instance)?

The screenshot is made in 1024x768px ;) In normal, I play in 800x600px and then it's good visible too. I don't know right now how it will be with 640x480px.

/Edit: Both looks good. 800x600 and 640x480:

Ooh, pretty mountains. :V

This should give your maps a little more detail, considering the mountains in Fallout / Fallout 2 were always the same... Anyway, I've been reading about your mod (s) for a while now, and I am quite impressed, Lexx. In fact, I think it's time I play Shattered Destiny 1.

Keep on working to crank this sucker out

Your sig directed me here.. again : )
Are you taking some time off SD part deux ? I'm asking so I wouldn't be clicking on your sig every day n_n

EDIT:
