"Fallout: Shattered Destiny 2" announcement

Your sig directed me here.. again : )
Are you taking some time off SD part deux ? I'm asking so I wouldn't be clicking on your sig every day n_n

I am working on the mod every day and every day some details get finished. I just don't post many news, because this would just distracts me from working (I experienced this already with a few mods from me).

Also I think players like it more to read a "mod is finished" news than always the same talking-many-words newsposts + two screenshots. :>

/Edit: Okay, I don't want to be that harsh, so I am posting a 'lil screenshot. :>

My npcs are mostly reacting on daytime. This means that if it's dark, they go to their homes, if it's day, they are somewhere else, etc. I don't plan to expand this into the extreme, but at least most of my npcs will not idle around on the same map position all day long, without doing anything.

Very sensible IMO…I wish the RP could implement a similar design enhancement…but consequently there should be critters that only come out at night time.

Good stuff. Hopefully, you're making this work for a quest or two? like sneaking past to certain areas given certain npc's positions at a time of the day/night?

Yeah, this sounds pretty good. Hope it will not turn into the Radiant AI type of stuff, I've heard a lot of bad things about it... :P

Sounds cool.

The Duntons do.

It has been some time since last post, but i believe in this project and hope it's still in progress =)

There wasn't a lot progress in the last four months- Mainly tweaks and stuff for the design documents, but nothing else. I've been pretty busy with FOnline and my limited time allows me to only work on one thing at once. I've planned to switch back to it soon, though (after the next 2238 update is shipped).

Have to redo one location totally, but luckily not much progress gets lost due to this, as the location wasn't really finished yet anyway...

Take all the time you need - I hear you that you need breaks from time to time to keep the motivation up and runnin'. ;)

I'd only like to see more small tidbits, as small as they might see, they keep peoples interest up. :)

But tidbits can also make people angry, if everything needs too much time. :p Plus, preparing something is also taking time, which could be spend on working on the game instead.

The reason why I don't post much news is, that I want the game to be done and *then* talk about it and not talk about it and maybe never finish the game (in the way I talked about it before).

/Edit: What I can tell, though: Since a few months, it is already possible to play the mod from the beginning to the end. The main quest is 100% scripted and working. The main quest dialog work is done approx... uh, let's say 95%, because it still needs tweaks. So the rest I am doing now is practically only the additional fluff that every game has and needs. Doesn't mean that the game will be finished in a few weeks, though. :> The "additional fluff" is quite a lot to make the gameworld feel more alive and giving the player more things to do.

At least it's a sign of great progress, that the main parts of the game are done already. So the game is already definitive a lot bigger than SD1. :drunk:

Hey Lexx,

Seems like every four months or so, someone asks you for a status update in this thread. So, I'll make it my turn this time. :D

I just tried playing SD1, & I really enjoyed having a "new" Fallout experience. It's fun having a new world to explore. I'm very much looking forward to SD2. So, I'm just curious how far along you are now. No pressure, though! :ok:

Well, 1 year passed so i was thinking to ask...any news? No hurry of course, just asking to know if the project is still alive.

It's going forward pretty good, but the last month was very silent. The only thing that is kind of holding me up is writing all the dialogues. Here I am also taking longer breaks every once in a while, simply because I fear that every character will sound similar in the end... If you'll have to write the whole game alone, the danger is big that this will happen.

Signore moustached cat, shall we see anything soon?

Nope, I am too distracted by other stuff. Haven't really worked on it since a while. Especially because I still have a writers block.

It didn't, it's just crawling super slow because I am working on it all alone (was always impossible to find additional helping hands, so I gave up on that part long ago). I rarely have time for it since a while, but it's not forgotten.

Good to hear anyways. I just noticed that on ModDB that mod is marked as 'ceased development' and thus I didn't find it at first as it does not appear in the general mod list.

Wish there would be much more global mods like yours.

Yeah, I stopped doing anything with the ModDB page, because I simply had nothing new to show. After a while they archive the pages of "inactive" TBD mods automatically. I am going to create a new page as soon as I've got more to show than just more words.
