Fallout 2 mod Fallout Street Warrior

areneusz23

First time out of the vault
Hi im Arkadiusz Balcerzak from Poland. Its my game Fallout Street Warrior its continuation of Fallout 2 but its three size bigger than Fallout 2. The game in still under construction much of bugs release date unknown

After destroying Enclave platform you want to live in New Reno but nothing is so good as it should be, the enclave is searching now for the new recrouits in the wasteland to regenerate their power, they need badiest people in the wasteland, they kidnap you from New Reno and now you must pass the trial, if you pass it you have got possibility to be enclaves rookie. The story takes place five years after that from fallout 2. Your first destination is to liberate yourself from Enclaves hands, by passing the trial. The choices in the game are very extended, you can be good or evil, dumb or smart, the dialogues will change by checking your skills and stats, the game is always diffrent if you play the mod with other character. I induced the loss items placement, so you can find so really cool items at the beginingo of the game if you have got good luck, the chance in % of finding the items will high grow if your luck is good.

I think, we'll all have to say more about it once we get our hands on it, if/when it'll actually come out. That is, if the project is actually in solid development and not just a straw ignite, sort of stuff.

In other words: Good to know, that there is an ongoing Fallout2 mod in development, However I don't get My hopes up untill it actually develops a full featured game, You see, there were a shitload of fan made content that didn't even make through the planning phase, Polish Fo2 mod developers beeing especially prone to this.

So I withold "muh" judgment, to when i actually see something playable coming out of this hype building.

Here are some nice screenshots

don't get me wrong maps are the relatively easiest thing to do for a Fo2 Total conversion mod. the hardest part is the scripting, it is this part that most mods find their downfall, the lack of nessecary amout of Fo2 modders that know klingon academy scriping language, with later add-ons such as sfall add-ons.

Why nobody interessed the mod? Maybe most of you people fall silent when see this mod, theres no need to im a good person

Aside from this forum not quite as lively as it was back in the days, it's like what gustarballs said; until you can present a more convincing and substantial proof like a demo or as simple as combat demo (to prove it's actually working, even if only on the most basic level), I think everyone is holding off from getting hyped up, as to not get disappointed when it didn't live up to expectations.

Video gameplay from older version of the game

Ok..
Now how about a narrator in that video telling us ( in English) what's the game about, besides a video of someone savescumming in a lame way ( as I recall it is a very bad idea to save during combat with sfall [ and frankly nobody plays clasic Fallout *without* sfall nowdays] )..

Well I *do* understand the dialogues, but most of the folks around here do not, (as they are not from Poland nor do they speak Polish).. So areneusz how about fixing this little problem hm..? Besides Personally I always *hated* Playing computer games in Polish, as it causes lack of immersion.. there is a slight subtle difference between: "Hello wanderer" and "siemanko ziomeczku" a difference of a generation to say the least...

Personally, and this is entirely a matter of preference on my part, I don't find the concept of combining Mad Max with a post-Fo2 mod particuarly compelling.

A Mad Max game in the Fallout 2 engine? That would rock, absolutely!

A mod set in the wake of Fallout 2? That would rock, absolutely!

Put them together? Eh, not so much.

Granted it seems like it doesn't really matter that he's Mad Max, seems like it's just the name and the content of the mod is entirely a post-end game Fallout 2, but I find it a little off-putting.

And regardless of the Mad Max aspect, I don't think I really like it being the same character as the one from Fallout 2, seems like it would be more interesting and make more sense.

But beyond that, this looks very promising.

I have trouble understanding how this mod makes sense lore-wise. I mean, isn't the Enclave completely gone by the end of Fallout 2 (except for a few scattered remnants who weren't on the Poseidon Oil Rig when it blew up)? How would the Enclave be able to rebuild a base and a powerful army in only 5 years? It really bends the lore a lot.

In my opinion it would have just been better to set the game in a different location or in a different time period, with new factions and characters, to avoid such issues.

Plus I think a lot of Fallout fans are sick of the Enclave. Sure they were cool in Fallout 2 and New Vegas, but they're kind of stale now. Frankly, they aren't that interesting. Unlike the Master, or Caesar's Legion, there is no moral ambiguity to the Enclave. They're just pure evil. So there's not really much about them you can explore that hasn't been explored already.

As for the Mad Max title, it is extremely jarring and doesn't fit with Fallout at all. Fallout was obviously heavily inspired by Mad Max but they are two distinct franchises. Mixing the two makes absolutely no sense. I suggest coming up with a new, original title.

However I will say that on a technical standpoint I find your mod very impressive and promising. It's clear that you've put a lot of time and passion into this project, which is really commendable. It's a shame that I can't speak Polish. Do you think you'll translate your mod into English once it comes out?

You should call it Fallout: Detroit, and take inspiration from Mad Max but leave Max out of it :)

Looks great though.

Personally, I find Enclave remnants between the end of Fo2 and the start of NV in the Core Region to be one of the most interesting premises for a Fallout setting.

The main hero Mad Max will be replacted by 3 other heroes Nick Katie and Zofia the plot of game will change a llittle bit but its easy to modificate becasue i didnt finished scripts for other Cities so ii will not be force to write them from begining

I agree. I think the Enclave remnants in New Vegas are a lot more fleshed out and nuanced than the Enclave is in Fallout 2 (and Fallout 3, for that matter). New Vegas managed to humanize the Enclave, which is not something I thought was possible.
That's why I'm kind of sick of mods (such as the Frontier or New California) always feeling the need to include the Enclave in the plot even though it makes no sense lore-wise and doesn't add anything new to the Enclave. I think we should move on and come up with fresh, original factions instead of always relying on old ones.

Hey @areneusz23 , good to see another effort to expand the Fallout universe. I have a few questions about your project.

First, you have a lot of locations, and you claim that the game is three times the size of Fallout 2. How many quests do each of your locations have, on average? How many scripts have you completed for the game?

I see on your list of locations that you include both New Reno and Junktown. With a game with so many locations, I assume your world map will be bigger than Fallout 2's. Does the game take place in California?

You suggest an April 2023 release date in the opening post. Once again, how complete would you say the game's scripts are right now?

I see in some of your videos that you have a few original assets--the hooded Sulik is charming. I would hope that if you stick with your chosen title screen that you give credit to Nevada Band/red888guns, though.

It's cool to see you making your own disk for the game, but I think it's early to make any novelty items when so much goes unanswered about progress. I wish you a whole lot of luck in telling the Chosen One's next story!
