This is a thorough demonstration of a "Prologue + Act I" of a SIDE QUEST of the coming mod for New Vegas by one of the developers. Note the this is only a portion of ONE side quest from the mod not the main quest.

    Quick Notes:-

    • A lot of invisible dialog check that depends on many of your skills.
    • branching dialog for many characters, even for the non-zoom characters.
    • Someone mentions Todd Howard so he can study this.
    Your thoughts?.

    It looks fucking awesome!

Yes, it looks very awesome, but I'm afraid that this mod will strongly favour fighting over diplomatic approach. In trailers they mostly show cool vehicles&explosions and that worries me. Hope it won't be too linear.
Would be cool if the player could join the Legion or kill both Legion and NCR.
  4. The fact that Portland, the heart of Cascadia, got swept under 'Survivalists' really seemed like a wasted opportunity. Coulda had a homegrown ecotopist like faction to make a new North-Western power. Especially with how strained the USA was in lore, there's solid bedrocks to build up on, even if they have to be vault-born greenies.

This looks pretty impressive for a mod.

If this shows what the rest of the Frontier would be like then I guess I would be satisfied for the most part.
  6. I'm still sort of excited for this, if not much more than 'dumb shooting in a new locale' mod. The VA seems to be a bit horrid at times from what can be seen....

I'll be honest - I don't like it. I've seen the first video on the slave harbor place and it seemed cool... at the beginning. But man is this mod pretentious in it's character portrayal. I mean P-R-E-T-E-N-T-I-O-U-S. The former slave master sounds more like a Greek philosopher than Edward freaking Sallow does. Like hell, he was a no good dirty slaver living in a hangar yet he sounds like he studied at Manchester? Screw that. I started watching the recently released second part yesterday and just stopped minutes in. The Bounty mods have good writing and solid, BELIEVABLE, dialog but this so far has some strange characterization that borders on ridiculous.

Also, is it strange that I'm bothered by how much the quest can branch? I like branching and choice/consequence but too much is too much. I'd tone it down on that front if I were them.

Seeing the things they've been able to do in the engine with just the modding tools is extremely impressive. A ton of work went into this mod and it looks like it could even be official DLC it's so detailed. Seeing it makes me happy that New Vegas has such dedicated fans willing to put this much time and effort into something they're giving away for free. Even better that it looks like more thought and effort went into it than everything Bethesda's done combined.
  9. Pretentiousness? In my Portland? It's more likelier than you think....

The only canonical handwave I can think of is that they're just from the more developed West Coast, and plenty of men educated in high places have become lowly monsters.... But now I sound like a defensive fanboy. Such a backstory works only for a few characters, if everyone sounds like they have a Masters, there's a problem.

As I always say: I`ll judge, when I`ll see. Especially considering it`s going to be free.Certainly amount of guys that agreed to work on it is impressive.

My husband showed me a trailer for this over a year ago...the mod's official Website says it's 80% done. I can't imagine how much work has gone into this, it looks SO epic! Driving vehicles in the Fallout universe hasn't happened since the Highwayman in FO2...I miss having the trunk space, haha.
