Honestly, this is either testament to how few copies the top 10 really sells or OMFG WTF BBQ is the appropriate response. NPD's top 10 US PC retail gaming sales (with the usual disclaimer that it's a guesstimate at best) sees Interplay's Fallout Trilogy hitting at #7, just above recently released (though admittedly DD-focused) Demigod.
1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Activision Blizzard)
2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe (Electronic Arts)
3. Left 4 Dead (Electronic Arts)
4. World Of Warcraft: Battle Chest (Activision Blizzard)
5. Empire: Total War (Sega of America)
6. World Of Warcraft (Activision Blizzard)
7. Fallout Trilogy (Interplay)
8. Demigod (Stardock)
9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life Expansion Pack (Electronic Arts)
10. Spore (Electronic Arts)

Friggin' hell dudes, Interplay back in the NPD top 10 PC sales? Something is broken here, either NPD, the PC industry or THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE®

Whoa. I don't think Herve has had a game in the top 10 since Prehistorik and Titus the Fox.

Man, Prehistorik was awesome

Speaking of which

Hey I remember Prehistoric for the PC, I have only seen screenshots of the SNES version in a magazine.

I wonder, how influential was Caen in Titus?

Unfortunately, it's the PC industry, at least as measured by NPD. Although this isn't as depressing as when Fallout 3 topped the October chart with a grand total of 71K.

It is nice to see that Fallout 3 is bringing more fans to the older games.

Still good (and surprising) news no matter how you look at it, especially since GOG has been selling a lot of copies recently, so whatever position the fallout trillogy is in this is after a lot of people recently purchased it through other means.

Like I've said... theres a lot of stuff going on that very few people can spin as bad around here.

GOG steals screenshots from MobyGames.
Um.
Maybe that doesn't really have much to do with the discussion, but I always love pointing that out, look at the screenshots for Ishar then check out the MobyGames entry, har har.

Although, I doubt a site with that steals screenshots from MobyGames really makes all that much moolah, so perhaps there is some indirect correlation.
I suggest in-depth investigation

Thus further proving the argument that iso TB RPGs will not sell is false.

Good point.

Good news for Interplay as well. Well deserved, and it's comforting to know that a lot of people are getting to see what a REAL Fallout game is like.

let's hope it's not a bunch of console-game kiddies (with a PC) buying this on the "name" of Fallout 3 just to find out what the game REALLY is and declare "oh hai - whar is the HUD and da fire buttens!!!?1"

i really HOPE not anyways

Why not? It's not your Fallout, It's everybody's Fallout. How can Fallout 3 bringing interest back in the old Fallouts possibly be a bad thing?

I'm with you but if his point is that it may not be indicative of how well iso TB RPGs sell but instead how Fallout 3 made people buy other games with the brand label, it's a legit one. The question remains of whether or not a sizable portion of those who purchase it would purchase another game like it. Either that or I'm playing the devil's advocate with myself  :ugly: .

That was a better way of explaining my concern :)

Wow, number 7. Even with the PC retail sector being as small as it is now I never expected it to chart. Anyway it just goes to show how most publishers are dumbasses for not re-releasing there classic games every few years.
