Fallout TV show coming 2024, featuring Vault 33 in Los Angeles

Hmm, I am not very optimistic about this show after I read this short article:
https://www.empireonline.com/tv/news/fallout-outsource-survival-human-race-jonathan-nolan-exclusive/

Here's a couple of quotes:

“Just as M*A*S*H gets to talk about Vietnam through the lens of the Korean War,” says Nolan, “we get to talk about the mess we’re in now through the lens of… ‘What if everybody just gets on with it and destroys the fucking world?”
I hate when they bring current day politics into entertainment. I'm so sick of it. Just don't.

While I'm not a big fan of the chosen design, bringing someone wearing a fully-articulate suit of Power Armor to that awards show sure was a power move. (see what I did there)

Can we talk about the mutant Axolotl with the mouth-fingers, tho

Can't wait for next year when we start getting porno of monsters looking like this and eating out a hot girl

As far as this show is concerned, whether Bethesda wants to consider this show canon to their games or not doesn’t matter to me, because to me Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout New Vegas are the only canon I care for. When it comes to the Bethesda games, they all have certain cherry-picked things I like, but as a package deal they fall flat completely when it comes to carrying the legacy of the originals and so I ignore them for the most part.
I’m sure this show will be more of the same. I most likely won’t enjoy it as a Fallout project and it’ll get me rolling my eyes, but I’ll still watch it. Hell, I might even find tiny details here and there I like, I’ve already adapted the Vault from the show Vault 33 into my DnD sessions with my friends. I just hope it’s funny bad and not boring. The worst thing a bad adaption can be is boring, I couldn’t be bothered to watch more than two episodes of both Halo and Rings of Power because they were just so aimless.

This is the right way to think of "canon." Just enjoy what you enjoy out of something and if you don't enjoy something, don't engage with it further, don't buy it or the next thing, etc. At best it's used to understand the direction of the stories and what characters get used in the future. At worst, it's to get people overly invested in something so they care more than they should.

It's strange how people get so attached to what is mostly trash. I love the first 2 games, and even enjoy the third (never played the others), but in the big scheme, they're just games, and are completely unimportant. We live in a strange time in history, all of our basic needs are so well catered for it gives us time to obsess over games.

I don't have have a Netflix account, or a streaming account so I never see the latest TV shows, I have no fucking clue what's out there, but we all seem to be living in a fool's paradise. Will the show suck, probably, but after the debacle that was the final few seasons of Game of Thrones nothing surprises me. I feel better of not caring about this stuff.

If push comes to shove I'll torrent this crap, but they'll never see my money.

It is due to religion no longer having a role in society.

BoS Power Armor now behaving like the Iron Man's suit. Very original and creative.
