It's a 1957 Westinghouse Portable TV!

If Fallout "3" hadn't been so crappy, there could have been a scene where, in the ruins of a 1950s future - full of failed possiblity - someone gets a B&W over-the-air broadcast going somewhere, and you use your Westinghouse Portable TV to get the location to the old missile command base or whatever.

That television would look just fine in my study…I find that period in the 20th century quite interesting when it comes to design. They were full of blind optimism for the future, how wrong they were…

"Portable", in the 1920's, meant "It isn't the size of a sofa". So, this isn't exactly what a wastelander wants to haul around.

That does looks awesome.

I was expecting a bit of TV/video in Fallout 3.

Fallout 1 already had holographic projections of the Master. Fallout 2 had the porn filming and plenty other hints at TVs and projections... Fallout 3 had Three Dog and that's it. Oh yeah, and the G.O.A.T. slideshow (unless I forgot something)

Yeah, but it still has that furniture look. That's nice. In the eighties tv's started to look like broken off chunks of flying saucers. Now that was bad.

Just made it in the last 5 minutes to check out how it would look in Fallout

I could see that right now as a misc. item in the world, whenever you activate it, little yellow text will show up above it, advertising pre-war stuff. That'd be so goddamn sweet.
