The weapon I like for artistic reasons as opposed to usefulness is the 10mm pistol for being based off this
Yep that looks exactly like the 10mm Pistol. When I did some sprite editing on the pistol I used an incremental resize (resizes up like 10 times at 10% each) and I realized the round thing above the grip Is In Fact a revolver cylinder. Kinda crazy that people have been missing that for the last 18 years.
I can see how maybe a gun could use loose ammunition and reload each cylinder chamber, combining maybe the concepts of a revolver and a tube fed gun at the same time, all you need is a spring loaded bullet retainer in the cylinder (pushes a little bead down to hold the bullet in place). And on the other side it could kick a spent round out to free the chamber up for another reload.
Oh my favorite fallout 1 and 2 guns?
In Fallout 1 the standard CZ53 Minigun is my most favorite, even above the 223 pistol. With 2 ranks of the bonus ranged damage perk the gun does enough damage to hurt BOS power armor guys, and when combined with AP ammunition it tears them to shreds (85 to 160 damage regularly seen). I can easily kill off the entire BOS bunker with a minigun and enough AP ammo.
--- The main reason it works is because the Damage Multiplier function in all Fallout 1 iterations and patches is broken. So the 2/1 of JHP and 1/2 of AP are ignored but the -35% DR is not.
Fallout 2:
P-90C because it takes the crappy, heavy-in-pocket 10mm ammo that has been piling up all game long and uses it to cause heinous flesh-ripping damage which is strong enough to even put wanamingos in their grave (or at least thats how I remember it). The damage was even higher than the assault rifle and it bursted for 12 hits. The AP cost is also lower than the other weapons too. Even though some other guns like the bozar, 2mm, and pulse weapons were the way to go this was better than having a 223 pistol as a sidearm.
Most Hated Weapons:
G-11 and G-11E, because the weapons were a failure in real life, and the 4.7mm ammunition they use is underpowered in real life too and not worthy of the stats they give it. The stats and usefulness of the 4.7mm/G-11 might be relevant if it was calculating a 3-Hit burst the weapon was famous for, but that would mean only 16 attacks worth of ammo not 50. Overall it didnt belong, it was a dismal failure in real life, and it didnt give the guys you faced enough of an advantage with it.
