Man oh man, they won the Eurofestival!!! The one show i never watch and normally hate, this year i watched nervously and voted for Finland, and they won!!!

Actually, no. If they staged Poets of the Fall and won, I would have cared. But I don't.

Screw the show-off Eurofestival and all it stands for.

Also, Israel isn't Europe.

Even though it's just a pretty standard 80s-rock number, it's cool they won. Another bit of proof that everyone thinks the whole festival is crappy anyway.

EDIT: Israel competes in Europe because the region they're in hates them.

Yep, in fact, it's really funny to hear him try to sing an extended high note a la Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and completely and utterly fail at it.

It's a really moronic contest, decades old, in which every participating country sends a band/singer/whatever to compete against eachother. Every country gets an equal amount of points to distribute amongst contestants not their own, and these points are determined by voting.

The contest is known for it's completely conformist boring pop and oldie songs.
 
As far as rock music goes Lordi's entry was pretty crappy, however as far as the Eurovision is concerned it may as well have been Led Zeppelin.
 
I hate all these festivals and don't watch them.

This time we sent our Dima freaking Bilan, that stupid jerk can't sing at all.

I hope he was a complete failure.
 
Haha, read about this on the BBC's website. Their article was all about how England's pop-rapper didn't win. This sounds like another excuse for Europeans to reopen age-old wounds via song and stock up on hatred and destructive pride for the next continent-wide war.

It's the most corny and fluffy song contest in the world. And the first guys that showed up dressed as demons and zombies singing the "Arockalypse is coming!" won, wich is hillarious and made my day :)

Just remember Abba and C'eline Dion started their carreers in this contest, and you'll understand why i'm so happy this guys won, it's just that subversive :D
