The whole eurovision contest is garbage. Period.

However, it is funny how people here in Finland always complained about how the contest was just a big joke until Lordi won.

Personally, I don't like Lordi's music that much. Finland would have had lots of better metal bands to present. Like Kotiteollisuus, for an example.

But do you really think that Kotiteollisuus could have had such kind of song to get the same kind of reaction(even if they would have singed in english, witch they can't, perfectly). Remember it's both the words, and the performance that are jugged, by normal by stander, not how good it sounds to your ear. I like Ruoska and Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus too, but I am not sending them to Eurovision anytime soon. The next time I would get either HIM or The 69 Eyes, The Rasmus or Poets of the Fall, if our little bastards could get any of them to perform in our own backyard here in Finland in the competition, but I think it ain't going to happen.

Hm. You do have a point, there. Besides, I don't think that Kotiteollisuus would even agree to such foolery as the eurovision contest, even if they did sing in english (which I am, oh, so glad they don't) and had a more visually impressive stage performance (which I am also glad they don't).
