FireFox 3.0 Download Day

Meh, the sluggishness bug when you scroll on a page that has a large image is back or what? :S Other then that i love how fast it starts now.

Well I downloaded Firefox 3 on my 2 PC that have internet connection, I even downloaded in 2 different languages: US-English and Portugal-Portuguese.
I guess I failed to comply with the rules, so I'm not sure I was/will be counted to the "Download Day Guinness Record", I hope they count my 4 downloads as 2 official ones.

That said, I haven't tried Firefox 3 yet, but I'll try it soon and see if works fine, as I expect it to.
And I hope the problem I was having with the conjunction of Firefox 3 betas with my ISP's Webmail Beta version is fixed. Because with Firefox 2.* I have no problem using that Webmail Beta version.

That is one of the reasons I haven't tried Firefox 3, that and the fact I haven't backed it all up...

Hmm I downloaded it today and it works fine. My friend however got his gmail account hijacked making it send spam from his address to every single person he has been in contact with since he got the account. He was logged into gmail on one tab surfing in another. We suspect cross site scripting might be the villain. Anyone else knowing anything about stuff like that happening? Why are we not protected against stuff like that?

No it was not me and I was not surfing porn at the time.

Meh, all I want is for firefox to not take over all of my memory when I leave it up for an extended period of time.

opera solves that problem.

infact, unless youre using firefox for the plugins that opera doesnt have natively, i would always suggest opera first to people.

i use firefox for the record, but thats because i use it for strange stuff opera cant do.

I think I was too early an adapter to Opera. It sucked back when I tried it, but everyone is cumming all over it now.

Firefox 3 Download Count Over 8 Million
Firefox 3, the recently released open source browser from Mozilla, has claimed that over 8 million copies of the software were downloaded on Download Day. The company stated early that their goal was to surpass the initial release of Firefox 2, at 1.6 million downloads in 24 hours, and hit 5 million downloads.

Is there an addon like NoScript for Opera? It is the reason i have been using Firefox this long.

problem with Opera remains that some site will simply not work with it.

and active content sites (ASP, ASP.NET, heavily javascripted pages...) quite often do not work as intended, making it unworkable.

it's also rather harsh when using CSS. one slip-up and the entire layout is screwed.

that said, i use both. Firefox as a main workhorse, with Opera for all additional stuff. (dual monitor setup makes it easy to simply use both)

Finally got around to installing and using it a lil'. Not really the revolution i was expecting. It loads up a lot faster, doesn't eat SO much memory, and the url bar's new 'function' is much less annoying once you get around to figuring out how it works, haha. Would be cool to be able to switch between the old one and the new one, but meh, i can live with it (especially since i'm not really using the url bar that much anyway, i have a gazillion of shortcuts in mah objectdock, durr).

I hope all the cool plug-ins will have a compatible version soon (NOOOO AUTOCOPYYYYY :,((().

Not a disappointment, but i did expect something with a bigger punch to the stomach.

and if you use the old look for it, it becomes much less invasive too.
