Yeah, I figured it was. The idiot anime-fanboy avatar gave it off, the complete lack of basis in reality just solidified it.

Oh, good. That should be useful in an age of bullets, armed and armored vehicles, and pushbutton death and destruction. Of course if the movies teach us anything it's that when facing anyone armed with a gun the best thing to be is a martial artist because naturally when facing such a foe any gunman will be compelled to walk into arms length to stand stunned while being disarmed or instead fire aimlessly near you so you can be as dramatic or humorous as you please.
dont diss HtH... in the current age of guerilla city warfare, you're bound to have some CQB encounters. CQB + empty clip or otherwise unable to fire (jammed, OOM,...), some quick thinking & a HtH takedown can save your life.

it wont be as cinematic as holywood movies or nuts like hong kong movies, but it can save your life.

suaside thats what i am trying to say, thats military basics, HtH, and melee combat thats basic, like how to strip a gun stuff liek that~ what i a m talking bout is KUNG FU, MARTIAL ARTS KUNG FU. sorry my english is not very very good~
...

the stuff they teach IN EVERY ARMY is HtH combat martial arts of the same level as your kung fu. some of these techniques dont even have a real name, but all of them are worthwhile.

of course, some countries dedicate more time but it is in every BASIC TRAINING.

If you really want a hardcore military martial art check out Krav Maga or Marine Corps Martial Arts. I've seen some of the techniques of each and they are pretty intense. Maybe in a couple of years after I go through TBS I'll see what those Taiwanese Marines can do :)

@ suAside, i disagree
1. Not every country's military are trained with "my kung fu"
2. special corps maybe, dont know from which countries
3. Military in China do have Special Kung Fu Training, not the usual HtH Combat.

China goes through the annoyance to train his soldiers with kung fu, its because of its ancient culture. Training their soldiers with variety of Martial Arts.

o' well, seems that u think i am trying to outstand china's military force.. but i am not, i am just typing the facts.

1. i am Taiwanese
2. i do not support china

so i am not just talking bout 1 of my favourites, and may sound that i am defending it, but i am not, like i said, i am just typing the facts

Well have fun in iraq, it looks like a fun place to be in: *snip*
If you aren't in a direct combat zone or it isn't raining mortars on your airbase at the moment it's just about the dullest fucking place on the planet no matter how many damn basketball hoops the MWR monkeys install. And in response to the movie, nothing brit troops do is odd to me anymore.

Consittering how most HtH training in the military is cut down to what you'll possibly (but very unlikely have to) use and no more, I don't see how this is special other than being a spectacular waste of time and resources. If it's even correct and current that is.

did i say they were trained in your kung fu? i think not. maybe you should brush up on your english comprehension skills.

please don't strike at me suAside, i feel some hotility here.
look, forgive me if in any where around my previous posts i somehow offended you, i am sorry.

How long do you guys have to train before being qualified for battle?

Are there any pilots here, because that must be cool to fly things like a combat chinook

Oh and those who join the army, well have a safe journey and go quickly up the ranks

closest thing to a flyboy we've got must be Elissar. we dont have any pilots afaik.

Right now I've got an NFO contract through the commissioning program I'm in, but my OSO said he'd switch my contract to pilot when I get back from Quantico. Assuming the switch goes fine I'll go to flight school after I finish college and after six months at The Basic School.

....chinook.....

Eh what? Someone say somthing about my Airframe?

And by the way, pilots are overrated, you want to be a non-rated crew member, one of us inthe back of the helo calling slingloads, running the guns and hitting on each and every female passenger that climbs onboard the aircraft. Except the (really) ugly ones.

well, i admit it's not the car-bombs and rattlesnakes you send me for my birthday but i do try.

If Elissar and Commissar, God forbid, ever had a child it would probably be the next Hitler. A successful one.

And his name would be L'commiesar:freak:

Don't. They make you wear uniforms! they MAKE you do stuff, like marching, differant kinds of exersizes, beeing shouted to by offisers, etc. etc. why would anyone WANT to behave like sheep?
