For those Going to the Military

Since you're hoping to go Ranger and Airborne I take it that you're coming to Ft. Benning? Well, I'd say look me up since I'm there right now and still will me when you'll be arriving...but the Drill Sergeants at 30th AG will probably have problems with you going strolling down to Olson Hall to visit someone attending the Bradley Master Gunner course. ;)

So I'll just wish you luck and warn you that Airborne and Ranger training aren't what you might think they are. Airborne is largely a joke, and Ranger school...well, it's 60+ days -- assuming you don't have to re-cycle -- of being tired and hungry.

At any rate, good luck.

Hey there, JU/CCR!

How've you been? Personally, I've been rather busy, not to mention w/o net connection whilst I've been in Germany.

Right now I'm hot and sweaty following PT...must shower...coffee and cigarette first, though...

I'll be around off-and-on for the next eight weeks or so.

Take care,

OTB

I actually spent two weeks in Germany last year, going from Berlin down to Muncih. Best time of my life.

I've been doing well. I moved, met a lot of new people and now have a few (!) friends. IRL.

You mean you're not Mr. T's neighbor no more? Where are you now? Also, are you done with high school yet?

I still live on the North Side, but I only moved there somewhat recently. After OTB left I think.

Well, I left JAN 05, and I my aging, addled brains don't remember you having moved before then.

Good to hear you're doing well, though.

Personally I'm doing pretty well, too. I made it back to Sergeant in 17 months -- not bad considering they knocked me back to PV2 coming back in -- and the school I'm going to guaranties that I'll go to the Staff Sergeant's Board in August and get promoted in October.

Of course, I can't seem to get away from getting nick-named "Old Man" everywhere I go, but that's another story...

Cheers,

OTB
