Full Body Shot

Sander, I believe you are a bit too quick to judge wamingo. It seems he does understand that it was simply an art test, but was expressing that it would be nice to hold onto a slim hope that perhaps Bethesda had provided guidelines for a birds-eye/isometric view of the model in addition to other viewpoints. I think he understands that it is it an unsound hope, but that it simply makes for a nice thought.

Perhaps I'm making too many assumptions, but it doesn't seem like a comment that really calls for wamingo to be jumped on.

Sander jumps on everybody.

People overthinking can be annoying when it goes any which way but the right one, though. And this is an art test. No conclusion to be drawn what.so.ever. No tiny speck of hope, no "the graphix will sux". None.

That's alright, I can understand why he makes this assumption.
By 'hope' I was suggesting this was a (small) breath of the isometric/birdview perspective direction, which we (mostly) all hope remains a possibility in future FO gaming. The intent was obviously to poke bethesda with the idea - however passive and thus hopeless it would seem.
I admit I wasn't being very clear, though I would think Such an outburst over something so small, regardless of thought I might add, is rather unnecessary.
So I will take your apology now.

;)

I think it looks more like a tribal than a raider... I know it's just an art test but isn't it supposed to be a concept art rendered? Hence the name "raider" gives me some worries...

lol i know its just a trainee model but here's a random thought - i dont really think so buuut :

the fact that the gun and gauntlet are so big might indicate that the model is mean to be viewed from a top down angle instead of a fps angle in which the size of the gun is bigger so you can distinguish it better.

:)))))))))))))))))

That the gun is so big certainly indicates that Bethesda will do something new refering to the perspective, because you have to be able seeing the gun from bigger distance.... it will be something like: 2nd Person LeftFootDownUp Perspektive! 8)

I think I'm going to have to start killing people. Yet again.

Here's what happened: the guy applied for an artist job. He was given a concept art and given the instruction to translate it to a model. He did that. That means: no demands for any kind of perspective at all. It's a model!

I think they are having a bit of fun now, Sander
I know. But I can't help but bite.

'Sides, I wanted to ellaborate just a bit more.

It's only a model.

The real problem here is if the artwork that the model was based is from F3 or not. I think it is.

The second problem is how much freedom the modeller had in representing the 2d concept art.

If Beth told him to model excatly after the 2d concept art, then that big gun and that fur around the neck will be in the game too.

I dont know how much freedom the modellers have in their translation from 2d to 3d.

the graphix will sux.

Sorry, I just had to say that..

To the point: The model looks pretty good. Strange, sure, ...but good for an art test.

If I could be serious, he's way too healthy and well-nourished looking. He's what the Fremen would call "water-fat".

I expect pustules, scars, scabs, rad burns on a scrawny, wiry, wizened frame. Instead, this guy looks like he hits the Elliptical machine, chugs a protein smoothie, and preens and poses in front of the mirror in between raids. He's not ugly enough, take away the clothes and he's the prototypical metrosexual.

Maybe it's a "Todd's vision" how should looks humor and 50's sci-fi influences in Fallout 3

But seriously. The gun looks like big water pistol or a toy.

Anyway, I wish luck to guy who made it in his work for such "brilliant" company like Bethesda is (yes, I don't like them).
