Looking good! I have to nitpick on the "shoulderpads" though, the ingame armor sprite looks much mure loke a full, eh how to call it, "bulk", not these pads with transitions on. They also look more bulky. The actual mask/helmet does look really good though!
Yes I know what you mean. I've noticed that Fallout 2 has made 2 versions of armor. The one you see in game (sprite) has a very bulky look, you can see that the head is small compared to the whole body. When you see cinematic it looks different. So I decided to make a compromise between that adding some logic that it had to be quite big for cool look and shield too, but light and not so much big enough to make sense in general. So that's what I've got

What about this?
http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/1/12/RemnantsPowerArmor.png Thats a lore APA from what i known. Soo maybe it will help
Yes I saw this. And I used it as reference only partly. The thing is that this is for Fallout 3 (I think) and it doesn't look so awesome and cool (as the whole F3 anyway
) as the original armor you see in Fallout 2. It doesn't have that "aggressive" cool look which is a shame regarding the original massive look armor. Those funny "briefs" don't add any good either, neither do they look cool, neither they have any logic as it's visually obvious he couldn't move properly his legs

By the way CryingHorn, what software are you using?
I'm using 3dsmax for modeling , photoshop for textures and fusion for composing

Yes please! Little request, can you do this also for 4:3 monitors?
No prob, I'll make a pack after I finish all of them. The 4th one will not be in landscape though.

How long did this take you to make?
It took a while actually. I've started somewhere in the middle of January, but I had to put it back for a while as I had to do some other commission works, but if I would count all work together it would be around less than a month. Most of the time I spend on textures of course, since I wanted to make it in high resolution I had to use a lot of procedural textures just to mix lots of passes of dirt variations and so on and that applies to all elements of armor. In the end whole armor has 64 textures and it takes at least a minute only to load them in material editor preview xexe Also each elements has its own "dirt" and "worn edges" baked textures which are used only for mixing other dirt textures. The shader is actually very heavy and it is the most heavy shader I ever constructed.

You should find yourself an animator and make a movie.
Actually in the beginning I had a serious plan to do the "remake" of the original intro of Fallout 2 starting from the part where the vault opens, and the enclave solders slaughter whole family coming out from it. The original scene has a huge impact of shock already and I wanted to push all the drama way further by all means making it of course much more realistic, cruel and dramatic. The problem is that it's a bit to much of a work/time for me alone, especially regarding the rendering times which would take very long on my single workstation. Anyway I might do it future
