Gamer.no previews Fallout 3

It might be lost in translation, but I honestly don't understand his point of criticism on the dialogue tree: why would the dialogue tree effect character development? Dialogue tree as an expression of player choice with reactions from the game world without direct impact on character development is exactly how it worked in Fallout 1 & 2.

I imagine it means that

-Yes
-No
-Blow me! (draw your weapon)

options aren't cool and opportunities for alternate ways of solving the quests, or chances of uncovering new ones by carrying the dialogue in a certain direction, or convincing somebody to teach you something and so on, are more desirable.

Anything beats the out and out sycophantery from the US/UK previews.

I've felt less intellectually pissed on watching bad pro-wrestling than reading some of those things.

Haha, so true.

Your interpretation sounds exceedingly unlikely.

I hope you're allowed to play a "stupid" character with incredibly butchered dialog. That was probably my favorite playthrough of Fo2.
Yeah, that was one of my favorite aspects of the FO games, but Bethesda has cut that out, as BN said. Gone, just like child-killing, groin-shots and eye-shots.
