Gamespot interview with Todd Howard - "Trying to tell better stories"

HA!
They only sell because it's busy work.

It's a wank game, you have fun for a bit, but then once it's done, you feel ashamed and could have spent better use of your time.

I think most would agree that having a wank is a better use of time than playing Fallout 4.

"How content is presented; they both have their strengths and weaknesses. We're very critical of our own stuff.

They expect anyone to believe this ?
Although, if they truly want a better writting, they could... Let's say... Hire actual writters and design the thing in the first place, instead of doing the writting at the same time they are making their game, and have the writting done by programmers and animators.

Don't tell me they don't have enough money to afford hiring people with skills or have a proper pre-production phase.

Every interview with him or other beth guys always come off as vague statements, what are thye critical of ? I feel like Obsidian for example go into great lengths into thier own criticisms of thier games etc. Todd is so vauge and his statements sounds wrote.

I'm saying it now if Bethesda Game Studios doesn't write better quests story lines they will fall behind CD Projekt RED by like ten years or more.

I seriously hope Todd Howard looked at The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and hires people from Obsidian Entertainment to work on writing the quests story lines for The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5.

Maybe there is hope because Arkane Studios hired Fergus Erquart to write the story lines for Prey (2017). Maybe Fergus Earquart will move onto writing the quests story lines for The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5.

If The Elder Scrolls VI sucks and doesn't catch up to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 I feel a lot of people will not purchase Bethesda Game Studios developed video games ever again.

I know I'm not after what I read and YouTube videos that I saw of Fallout 4.

Especially after seeing like five pictures of Fallout 4 with the mod that removes the dialogue wheel.

Here's one picture I have kept saved for like a year now.

All four options in the dialogue are the same exact dialogue with a few different wordings in each sentence.

I mean that is the most terrible writing I have seen in a RPG video game.

Fergus Urquhart is not a writter, and the one they hired was Chris Avellone and that was after Avellone quit Obsidian to become a freelancer.

Whoops my mistake, thanks for correcting me.

I always get Chris Avellone and Fergus Urquhart mixed up. I don't know why.

I hope Chris Avellone is the one who writes the story quest lines for The Elder Scrolls VI.

I don't think Todd Howard will ever let go of Emil though.

I doubt if Chris will have anything to do with Elder Scrolls.

He may have something to do with their future titles.
But I get the feeling that Bethesda are aware of their bad rep at this point.
With the embargo on future titles and catering to consoles, they are doing damage control.

Which is funny as I doubt people like Mr Matty will care about Bethesda in a few years.

Either that or they are unaware and think what they are releasing in gospel.

Which again is funny as CDprojekt red fans will just laugh at them.

The comments on the article are great :

I have some story ideas for the next Fallout and ES. Check it. You're a prisoner in the beginning of ES6 then a deus ex machina breaks you out and you have a destiny that you can eventually take on the gods.

For Fallout you're a vault-dweller that has to rescue a member of your family. Deep huh?

CD Projekt RED's market value increased to $1.6 billion dollars (USD) about a month ago.

If CD Projekt RED's market value keeps increasing like this, I hope that in 2020 CD Projekt RED's market value is like $5+ billion dollars (USD) and that ZeniMax Media Inc's. and Bethesda Softworks value for the Fallout Intellectual Property (IP) drops, by a lot and that CD Projekt RED in around 2023 ends up purchasing the Fallout Intellectual Property (IP) from ZeniMax Media Inc. and Bethesda Softworks. For less than $1 billion dollars (USD) and hires all of the original people who worked on developing Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game.

VALVe was worth like $1 billion dollars (USD) in 2011 and now Gabe Newell is worth $4 billion dollars (USD).

I hope CD Projekt RED can grow in worth fast as well.

We will never know the worth from ZeniMax Media Inc. and Bethesda Softworks though since they are not a publicly trade company.

VALVe is also not a publicly traded company, but their worth gets released like every three years or so.
