General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

After tenish years, you know what I'm going to be playing shortly. Might not be around too much for a couple weeks.

I got my dirty paws on an absolutely sweet, original copy of Lucasarts' The Dig. Love it.

Played most of the LucasArts adventure games to the end but not The Dig, man im going to grab that one some day also :)

Btw i have just found a very fun game for anyone who likes the HoMM serie. Kings Bounty, very addictive game, haven't been so hocked on a game for years. Its like HoMM but with much more RPG focus, the building towns concept is totaly removed etc.

I'm playing "that" game.

Mine wont come in until tomorrow or Thursday, I cant wait. So is it as bad as the majority of everyone here thought it would be?

The vault section was fucking terrible, but it's actually pretty cool once you set outside.

The humor is intact (the G.O.A.T. was fun), but it feels like they were trying a bit too hard.

My biggest gripe is that almost none of the dialog options actually fit what I wanted to say. You're either a paladin, a coward, or a baby killer; with very little variation in between.

The graphics are straight up bad by today's standards, and don't run well either (Doesn't run as bad as oblivion, but I can see a lot of fan-made optimization patches coming).

It's not nearly as bad as it could have been (or as bad as I thought it'd be), but it definitely isn't 9/10 material like all of the mainstream (re: paid) reviews are gushing over.

Oh, and it doesn't feel like oblivion with guns (thank god). The combat isn't nearly as tedious/shitty as it was in obliv.

I didn't expect Fo3 dialog/acting to be as awesome as Bloodlines, but would you say it is at lest better then Mass Effect?

I liked ME's writing better, but as far as dialog choices actually affecting the course of the conversation; Fo3 wins here... which isn't saying much, but it's better than being given options that have fuck all to do with what your character actually says.

While waiting for FO3 I have now once again started playing Diablo II.

Ah, the memories.

Decisive Battles of World War II: Battles in Italy - I bought this advanced operational wargame a few days ago and I discovered that I have to study it (like in studying for school exams) to be able to play it.
There are 13 tutorial lessons and I've done two and it took me about two hours. I think I'll finish them in two weeks.

Syndicate+

Geneforge demo

AstroMenace

Ya know. Phil's right about it not feeling like Oblivion. It feels alot more like I'm playing Deus Ex at times.

And Deathclaws are awesome btw. Tough as hell and won't' take your shit. VATS won't save you there.

The stupid stuff still stands tho'. Fatman dumb, Behemoth Mutants dumb, cept that all supermutants aren't brainless morons. Some of them do speak in normal english so they aren't all bad.

Had to put away FF 12 for a while... the damn lighthouse is pissing me off.

So now I have been playing excessive amounts of Zuma trying to beat my high score. Also, tried the new Bejeweled Twist demo (Bejeweled 2 was pretty disappointing, for that type of casual puzzle gaming), Twist is pretty damn neat tho.

Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth again, what a fantastic game!

Also perfectly playable with the latest version of ScummVM.

Digging a little deeper and a few more blatantly stupid stuff has reared it's ugly head.....
The AntTagonist.....

[spoiler:ea1b1f5449]
There was a quest for a small town, I forget the name, has a little struggle with a so called arch nemesis called "The AntTagonist". Oh my god someone was hit with the really stupid stick coming up with this crap. She's an ant "overlord" of some type terrorizing a small settlement complete with full ant like armor. Somehow controls ants. She is also having a blood feud with "The Mechanist". Alright, just the simple idea of this quest is just retarded.[/spoiler:ea1b1f5449]

Well, that surely was frisky eh?

Onto

Family Ties....

[spoiler:ea1b1f5449]Vampires? I know this has been talked about but seriously? I mean, my god....just my god. Okay, you start this one in Arefu. A family murdered. Go find the boy. Blah blah blah. Well you find him in a metro tunnel with the "vampires". Their leader justifies this "vampiric" addiction by stating that he is a reformed cannibal. There is a redeeming quality to this quest tho' and proving that everything in this game is not completely horrible is that this particular quest remind me of Ghost Farm from Fallout 2. That's a good thing. Loved that quest. [/spoiler:ea1b1f5449]

Now, onto a redeeming quality

The Outcasts....

[spoiler:ea1b1f5449]Well spank my arse and call me a bitch. Something that isn't totally backasswards from the original two. When reading some of the news comments and watching the videos before release, the Brotherhood of Steel shit made me wanna puke. Talking like marines, the holy sword of light save humanity from the uggie mutants crap. Ugh. That was terrible to say the least. Tell...I ran accross some guys in some rather funky colored power armor. The Outcasts....they have the same goal as their west coast brethren and are there to finish the original mission. To gather and horde tech for the elders back out west...if they ever get in contanct with them again. More coulda been done with the outcasts tho'. Really. I like those guys.[/spoiler:ea1b1f5449]

So not everything is bad. Tho' I'm not finished so far it's a 6.5. Above average and better than Oblivion. It's not nearly as boring and like it's been said before by me, it feels different than Oblivion in ways. More like Deus Ex.[/spoiler]

Playing VTM: Bloodlines, trying the game as a Tremere and really liking it surprisingly, first play-through I was Brujah so I had the crushing melee power thing going on, and I thought it would be really difficult playing as more of a "missle-caster type" character, but I'm actually doing much better than I did first time, making full use of my "Blood Strike" and "Blood Shield" powers.

Fallout 3 PC Version

Never thought i would say this someday but it's surprisingly good.
and of course...it's everything BUT fallout.Maybe i wouldn't have hated Bethesda if they had just renamed the game to something else.
