GCG notes:
We have been assured by Interplay, that they are still handling the Fallout PnP license, and that is was provided to Bethesda upon the sell of the Fallout IP. So we are back on schedule for the rough print date. Also Former CEO of Interplay, Brian Fargo has shown interest in writing the Foreword for the Fallout PnP: Survival Guide.
Link: Glutton Creeper Fallout pnp page

Ehrr, what has Fargo still got to do with Fallout?
Founder and original CEO of Interplay, and a developer of Wasteland.

And

has the rights to Wasteland as I read somewhere. Which begs the question to me of why there isnt another "spiritual" successor made at present...

That is correct, if slightly old news. But again, after the job inXile did on The Bard's Tale, it might not be much too look forward too.

The studio's website has had this enigmatic statement up for a while now:
inXile website said:
Current Projects

The Unannounced Project
Next gen action adventure game.

Okay, but its not really if he can object against it can he?

He has the rights for Wasteland, not Fallout which is in 'sadly' Beth's hands, if Glutton Creeper was working on a 'Wasteland' RPG then he probably would be involved.

Also from what I heard, though Inxile has the Wasteland rights it seems they aren't going to do much at all with it, they seem more focussed on other licenses they have or create total new ones.

Opens the question; why did he even bother to buy them if he just lets them dust away.

Maybe they're waiting to see what happens with F3.

His involvement is such that he "has shown interest in writing the Foreword for the Fallout PnP: Survival Guide."

May 8th, 2007: ZeniMax Media/Bethesda has threatened to file an injunction against GCG for damages, should we not cease and deist production of Fallout PnP d20 products. They are stating that Interplay never had the rights to license a Pen and Paper to GCG under their license of Fallout from 2004 before the purchase of the IP, and makes claims against GCG that it may damage the Fallout brand and forecoming Fallout 3 release by linking the two. So for now, we have removed the page, until a resolution is met. If you want to see Fallout PnP d20 releases, please let the people at ZeniMax Media/Bethesda know, but don't send them hate mail or flames.

Our first product was being sent for review this weekend to Interplay, and still will be, as we hope Interplay will get this sorted out with Bethesda.

We have been assured by Interplay [...]

Assured by Interplay. Yup. Who else was doubtful? Raise hands anyone ?

On Another Note : Man, Bethesda sure are aggressive. Hrmm... first replacementdocs.com and now this. I'm not liking this. At all.

And this begs the question: Why doesn't GCG make a Wasteland PnP game instead. Brian Fargo would probably allow them to do it.
And as such Bethesda is happy and GCG is happy, as they've probably would be allowed to make a post apoc game in the Wasteland universe....(but, apparently, not the Fallout universe??).
