RE: error sorry

This is old, I know, but I still want to say something about it. You say sniper rifles don't have much battlefield use. I say they have. Check this out : In Korea an American soldier shot 60.000 bullets to kill one enemy on average. In Vietnam that was 200.000 bullets to mow down one Vietnamese (I don't know where these numbers come from but I've read them somewhere). Snipers, on the other hand used, in both wars the same amount for bullets for one kill ; 1,63 bullet(s).the sniper's credo isn't "One shot, one kill" for nothing.
And think of the psycological effect. Imagine being in the bush somewhere, and you here shots, people around you drop dead to the ground, but you can't figure out who is shooting them. So I think snipers have a damn good battlefield use.

(damn where is that picture, I'll post it once I find it)

Ya

that is the whole reason why they took the full-automatic feature off the M-16.

We need more REAL GUNS, and more stuff to do with them!

In the Fallout series, a big problem with the guns is that they're ficticious, or variations of already-existing weapons (MP9= a future version of the MP5 smg's, ect.) and there were even errors in the names. the FN-P90 was a 5.7mm SMG, but instead it was an H&K P90c 10mm.
FO3 needs some more realistic guns, or at least accurate "future variations" of them. Get some Glocks (that aren't plasma pistols), some Steyhr AUG or Scout rifles, some M249 SAWs, ect.,and make 'em a bit more advanced and we'd be set.

However, the simplicity of weaponry is troublesome, as well. If anyone has ever played games like Jagged Alliance 2, they'd know how sweet it was to attach different things to their guns, or maintain them in order to keep them from jamming up. FO3 needs a similar weapon system, where one could attach laser-scopes (to increase accuracy), bipods (to increase accuracy while laying down), sniper scopes for long-range plinking, or "duckbills" on shotguns to change a buckshot round's pellet spread formation, and whatever else is available in a post-nuclear wasteland.

RE: error sorry

In games you can't really use snipers because by the time you have a LOS on a person in a game with these types of views. That person will be able to see you to and that defeats the whole purpose of a sniper in cover from an enemy squad, and if the sniper suceeds next round the enemy will be ready for a sniper. Snipers would only work if they had one shot kills with there guns or massive damage, and could not be detect unless so far away or a LOS of the WHOLE body, because snipers usually where alot of camo because they are one unit/squad.

Re: Weapons

I think that the swedish Ak5 should be in the game. It uses the same clip as the M-16. 30 shots in one clip. Weight: about 9 lbs. 2700 shots per minute. And the Colt Army mod. 1911 should also be in the game.
