As pointed out by Lexx, there is another GURPS video floating around in the depths of YouTube, namely a PC Games preview from 1996, featuring Tim Cain and pre-release Fallout renders.

It really makes you long for a 3D version of Fallout where they are true to the originals' art style. There is something insanely appealing about those character designs; if someone remade the original Fallout in 3D, I'm sure it would sell like hotcakes.

Enough dreaming. Well when someone makes a FO3 supermutant model replacement mod is when I will start looking for a used copy of the game.
 
3D Fallout with adaptable camera viewpoints for combat and exploring, and talking heads for every dialogue would be pretty awezors.
 
wow what a gem of a find there! I would kill to have one of those clay models. How cool would that be having one of those sitting on your mantle?
 
My god. that was excellent.

Can you imagine having to enter all those points with the laser scanner? Labor of love, indeed.
 
See the "Three Dog" productions at start of the video. They have stolen from Fallout 3!! Years ago!!
 
I knew they used a laser scanner but I never knew they used a laser pen to scan it in. That must of taken bleeding ages.
Though it did pay off. Fallout had some great heads, they look amazingly detailed for a game so old.
Shame about Fallout 3 where the heads are just... weird.

the heads in previous Fallouts looked waaay batter than the ones Beth made. Seriously, you can see that people like Tandy were born on the wasteland! Not in the world of TES series :P
 
If only nowadays developers would be so dedicated to making great games, not only great heaps of money.

I'm starving for good rpg's :tired:
 
As many others it seems, I want those computer 3D models! We should organize a raid of Beths offices (I suppose they have all FO things now) and download copies of those models! It would be a plus if we steal the documents that say the IP belongs to them.

I think that was Set's head, not my goody ol' Harold. hehe.

As far as I could see, Harold is based on Set. The same with other heads and items, etc. Some parts are used in other modell as well.
 
I've got a question for the artists out there.

How long would you estimate it would take to sculpt, then scan one of those heads?
