I have to agree with that statement. I the end both are just shooters.

Though, I have to say I had a lot of fun with HL1. HL2 was just mediocre though. And I dont see what so many find so awesome about the source engine. But well. Cant comment on Halo really as I never played it.

I have not played any of the episodes, are they worth the download ?

though I am really not that happy and anxious in suporting such "episode" download content though where you get most of the time less content for more bugs (money) ...

It wasn't buggy but I'd say that the price tag ($20 per episode) is dubious.

$20? That makes no sense. For that price you can buy the Orange Box, which includes HL2, both episodes, Portal and TF2.

On topic: To steal Kharn's analogy, Half-Life vs. Halo is like a cat-and-mouse cage fight. Hell, any decent PC FPS vs. Halo is like a cat-and-mouse cage fight. Seriously. Why are we even discussing this?

That's what they were both released at, Ep1 is now $10 and Ep2 is $15.
