In what I can only call another shameless attempt to get on the NMA frontpage, Ashley Cheng posted this on his blog with the comment "One of our QA guys, Fred Zeleny, made this Fallout valentine. It is too good not to share":

Awww, we love you too, QA guy Fred Zeleny.

Thanks Morbus.

It's not a shameless attempt - it's an embarrassing one.

Dude, even by our standards you're pretty frikkin' bitter.

Valentine's Day gettin' ya down?

Dude, he's like, Santa's skeleton. You'd expect him to be bitter.

We could see the remote citation of "War... War never changes" as a good thing huh? Well, at *the* least, they didn't forget about that one part :P

Yet, a magical Christmas tree grows from his cold heart, deep in the darkest forest of Lapland...

I'm just glad I don't have to drive out to see my girlfriend today because of this blizzard.

You and Me both :) Not that its a pain in the ass, but I dont want to get my ass killed getting to her :P

ok - bitter ( touché) - very surprised?

Howsoever - it's a kind of communication. As it seems someone is beginning to listen. And so is MSFD's appearance in ESF's Fallout-thread.

*grumble*

What thread are you talking about? Link?

This one.

Briosafreak:
the first prototype (techdemo) was ready in March last year and crunch time begun (with a holiday pause) in December, so that might be too much.

MrSmileyFaceDude:
The first prototype of what was ready in March of last year?

Seems to indicate that, uhr, the prototype wasn't read in March last year (which I think is info we got from VDweller, but I'm unsure). Maybe. I don't know.

ESF has a post limit per thread of 200 posts? Why?

"Post limit" ?

If a thread reaches 200 posts, they lock it and you have to start a new thread.

Apparently that was originally for technical reasons. They have no valid reasons to keep it up, but meh, their forum.

I've seen that before on some Dutch forums (Fok! and Tweakers at least). It's supposedly a measure to stop threads from becoming so huge they're hard to manage and stop them from becoming total chaos. It's also somewhat of a measure to stop spam. All in all a pretty half-hearted

Also, St. Petersburg was based on Amsterdam? Heh, never knew that.

Also, also, why the fuck are there people arguing whether or not Fallout is based on GURPS and/or supposed to be a simulation of PnP? God, retards.

Like anyone will believe that they worked on a game for 2+ years and still don't have a playable build. When we posted that Shivering Isles is in development, Pete stated to several magazines that no expansion is planned or in development. All lies and RPG Codex propaganda. The game was officially announced (as almost done) a few months later.

"We have pretty long preproduction phases on our stuff," continues Howard "doing concepts, design, building prototypes, and such. We should be ready soon to show it off, but we’ll see."

Needless to say, if they really started working on the game recently, there is no fucking way they "should be ready soon to show it off".
