Happy Falloutine?

Ok this is funny :)

...is the hope of every marketing man in a series.
It's not a shameless attempt - it's an embarrassing one.

There is some metatext there, maybe, but I don't think it's a marketing plot :)

I'm just glad I don't have to drive out to see my girlfriend today because of this blizzard.

Does that means she has to drive all the way to your home in the Blizzard? You macho neo con you :D

As it seems someone is beginning to listen. And so is MSFD's appearance in ESF's Fallout-thread.

It's not a question of listening, since we don't know if that happens at all, but they do read us, that is the professional thing to do, even if some disagree.

which I think is info we got from VDweller, but I'm unsure

I don't remember if he talked about that, but no, I didn't get that from him, al least first hand, so it could be wrong.

If it wasn't an NMA bait(@) eheh

ESF has a post limit per thread of 200 posts? Why?

After the forum collapsed a few times, particularly when everyone poured into them when FO was announced, they decided the servers wouldn't cope with such traffic, and therefore by reasons already explained decided to limit every topic to 200 posts, and trim the fora from all locked topics every month.

The fact that caused the forum to become a chat log with a month term is annoying, and the fact that allows all discussions, particularly those locked because the content isn't "suitable" , to disappear so quickly is, hmmmm, suspicious. *grumbles like taxacaria*

Hah! I'm glad everyone is enjoying it as much as I enjoyed making it! I hardly expected it to get out beyond the company and a few friends on my own journal. Oh, the exciting fifteen minutes of the internet celebrity.

Anyway, the sentiment remains: Happy Valentine's, Fallout fans of all stripes.

I think he said that as a joke, he knows we are incredibly curious so everyone is going to stare at the poster even more until we reach a complete state of stasis :D

for me I'll just never by another Bethsoft game again if the fuck up FO3. I started when oblivion came out when I heard that bethsoft was making FO3.

I'm not going to whine, complain, or threaten any one, I'm simply never going to by their stuff again. F'em, if the want to mutilate a great series then the don't deserve my support.

I'm going to wait and see what the mods say about Fallout 3 first. If they like it, then I'll buy it.

seeing that valentine poster, somehow I am not amused. and I dont know even why. how should I react? maybe if I knew that Beth'$ Fallout 3 will stay true to its roots I would have give it a smile.

But if this is the kind of humor will see in Fallout 3, I rest my case.

I dont know, but the radioactive sign and the heart symbol dont mix together in my mind.

A 50s style poster mentioning Valentine's day in time of war (or post nuclear war) it would have did the trick. the message "love... love never changes" it would have made a impact and it would had some logic

and I think that fallout boy drawings are used in excess. him alone does not make a 50s retro future. Beth should dig out some 50s magazines from grandmas attic and really study them.

Yeeesh, ok, for fek's sake, I don't want to sound as a QT3 visitor, but lighten up, people, yeesh, it's a doodle by a QA guy for Valentine's, stop OVERTHINKING

My thought exactly. It's not a friggin' concept art or anything. It's not even made by Beth's artist. Try to cheer up, champs.

:ok:

There appears to have been a collective case of sense of humour failure.

I quite liked it - it was about a million times less cheesy than any of the cards my local shops had to offer. (Still, I opted for sonething with a little more I wuv you about it for the missus; I don't think she would've understood a Fallout-based gesture of my affection...)

I don't think that is a somewhat "serious" poster or got anything with the FO3 development to do.

That's why I wasn't so sure about posting it as "news" :P

OMGORZIZ! LEWL!

I have to admit the idea is unique and well designed.

I'm also very lucky since this one woman who stalks me on another forum sent me a Valentines day email with a picture and the last two times she did it I sent here a special picture (one a Valentine from me, the other not a Valentine, but still from me) and I had nothing left to make or give that would fit the theme. So I gave her the link to that picture saying it was all I could find.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Yeah, hey guys - it's me again and once again posting something completely offtopic.

I was just posting this to apologize to the NMA community and especially to MSFD.

Also: I didn't actually threaten to kill MSFD. That was a figure of speech that I never actually said. It was meant to be comical but it was taken the wrong way. Whatever I did actually say was still pretty rude and I regret it.

I didn't know what better place to post this as this was the same topic that I posted it in originally. I've sent MSFD a PM also while he was on, apolgizing but he signed off, probably before he got it; so if you ever read this topic - it's sitting there in your mailbox, including this one.

Anger makes people do stupid things.

In what I can only call another shameless attempt to get on the NMA frontpage, Ashley Cheng posted this on his blog with the comment "One of our QA guys, Fred Zeleny, made this Fallout valentine. It is too good not to share":
[snip]
Awww, we love you too, QA guy Fred Zeleny.

Fred, sometimes known as Fizzbang, aka FZ!, is a good guy. He got the job there through one of his old college buddies, a developer who I do not know as well. Fred has said to me, in no uncertain terms, that I should stop worrying, as has his buddy.

Kharn said "we love you too"...that's a lot more than Todd is likely to get...

kisc said:
And in the meanwhile, Fred has insisted that my concerns, while understandable, are unfounded.

Since this is your first post here, mind telling us what your understandable concerns were/are? (for all I know they might've been that it won't be like Oblivion)

kisc said:
This means nothing to y'all. But Fred is of the old school, and so I've gone cautiously optimistic.

In my case you're very correct,it doesn't mean much to me that he's old school...being old school is not the same as making old school games...

kisc said:
Also, Fred drew it for fun.

Yes,that has been understood by a lot...and I like the image and the text...but it does not stop my worries about what FO3 will be.(and TBH neither does the appearance of you in this thread, since I've never -as far as I can remember- seen any kisc in the BIS forum...since I've not been a frequent visitor here I won't say anything about this place...but seing as it's your first post,I have a feeling you aren't too well-known here either)

Here is a little quote from his friend's only entry that I'm going to take a chance and share with you animals

That animal part really makes me more calm now...we're to listen to you and that FO3 will be a good game since there's a good guy working there...and the claim comes from someone that calls us animals....very reassuring...now I just know I have to pre-order FO3. </sarcasm>

I can assure you though that I will be _VERY_ happy to be proven wrong about FO3,since I would then get a game I've -and I'm thereby fairly new in the waiting game- been waiting for for about 5-6-7 years.
So go ahead Bethesda, make me take back every single word about my worries, noone would be happier than me if you make me swallow every last one of those words....
Until proven wrong I'll keep my expectations very low though.

Fred, sometimes known as Fizzbang, aka FZ!, is a good guy.

I'm sure it's true, he seems a nice guy. I had his portfolio site in my bookmarks for a few days now, I just wasn't sure it was really him, now I know, thanks to you. All the best for his attempt to rise in the ranks, giving his resume it won't be difficult. On a sidenote you don't imagine how many times I talked about Carnegie Mellon in the last couple of weeks, what a curious coincidence.

All it means is that I enjoy Fallout and Photoshop and making funny cards.

Yeah, most of us had already established that, tell him not to worry :)

I'm going to take a chance and share with you animals:

Either you forgot to put a smiley there or you are the one that should worry (except if that's a compliment regarding our sexual prowess :D )

Edit: His hair looks just like Rosh's hair a few years ago
Edit: How he cut his hair now, oh ok.
Edit: Hey the gingerbread cookies are awesome :)
