Has this ever happened to you while driving?

Besides this kind of collage of gruesome clips fails to impress me; it's life, shit happens! All you can do is pick yourself up and keep walking, if your legs are still attached, that is  .

And that would establish you as, at the minimum, a sociopath.

Ugh.

Most people who say stuff like that just say it to look cool. I'm sure if this all happened in real life 10 meters from us he's be puking with the rest of us.

I was just sitting there in gape jawed horror, wondering how many of them were intentional and how many were accidental. And concomitant felt my loathing for "humanity" rising to the fore. Waht a terrible way to die or (worse) be completely crippled for life.

I know one of those crashes was intentional, the one where one biker is rammed by a car, here is the full clip.

The moral of the story is crime hurts.

I always felt like there was something wrong with me, just didn't know exactly what.

I didn't say that I'm some bad-ass mofo with no compassion or that I would not puke my guts out for a good half hour if some guy would get splattered and parts of him would land on me or near me. I said that quantity does not impress me; that's to say that showing me a series of accidents impresses me less than showing me just one. It's kind of like kill Bill, the first few guys the chick slashes with that katana, that would be gruesome, then it all tends to become either dull or funny. It's like a defence against overcharge, the fuses blow and you stop caring, or at least something like that. One man's death is a tragedy, a thousand men dieing is plain statistics.
You want to hear tragic? A driver who is speeding gets pulled over. He gets out of the car to talk to the cop. Then, from the opposite sense of the road a drunk driver that is also speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road smashes into the pulled over car. The cop manages to duck out of the way, the driver is not that lucky. Now he is in the hospital in a coma, the doctors are unsure if he'll wake up. That is a bloody tragedy.

Hey, so who had a real car accident?

I experienced one. My friend was driving on an icy road. He lost control of the steering and the car overturned. We flipped once and managed to get out of it by ourselfs. It wasn't really as serious as it looked like but believe me i couldn't shit straight for a month.
So I can only guess what its like to see this kind of shit.
:puke:

Heh, I actually saw most of those in their single-clip versons from various websites, though I didn't see that really extreme 'pick of the vid' body slash thingie.

I've been in a serious 'almost' crash on an icey road once. My mother was driving and lost control of the car in the middle of the winter. We were going fast, and breaks wouldn't take for shit. Time sort of froze with everyone becoming dead silent in that car, as if all five in the family were preparing for death. As you will have guessed, we lived though (didn't even crash) but it was fucking close.

I've almost died so many times that I only feel an adrenaline rush and a short stab of fear (or surprise, it's hard to tell) during. Afterwards you come down from it pretty hard, but your brain does a great job of diverting you from thinking about your own mortality.

I've been electrocuted to unconciousness, been nearly hit by cars (like with the car screeching to a stop inches from impact) multiple times, as well as almost having car accidents as both pasenger and driver many times.

I'm quasi-lucky, I guess. So many near misses. But nothing changes seeing it happen to someone else. I'd never want to lose my ability to feel horror and pain for someone else being hurt. The moment you do you lose part of your essntial humanity.

Do you partake in any "extreme" activities or is it just bad luck?

Sincerely,

Never been one to do those sorts of things. The most dangerous thing I've done that was intentional involves practicing with a sharpened katana. (One scar on the top of a foot; d'oh!) Also sparring, but I only do that with wooden swords (No armor, though. Almost lost a nut, but again, was "quasi-lucky").
