Heresy Dump

I AM THE LAW!

If I remember correctly during one of the videos they briefly talked about making the act of defecation illegal.
I greatly enjoy this Youtube series.

You know if you think about it, our current technology is actually on par with what the 40k universe has. (to some limited degree)
W40k army units are designed to be on par with slightly post-WW2 capabilities.
Think Sherman, Stuart, BMP1 tanks & vehicles for Leman Russ, Chimera, etc.

Let us say energy storage would be no issue at all. What about range? How would such a laser weapon compare to a sniper rifle chambered in 5,56? Those can be if I remember correctly effective on ranges of up to 900 meters, albeit you would have to be a really good shot to hit on that range. I guess accuracy would be less of an issue with a laser, since well, it's light.
7.62x51 would be more fitting.
5.56x45 does not lend itself well to 900m shooting. Sure, you could theoretically, but trying to actually hit anything with a bullet with that much wind drift and drop would be an issue. 5.56 at 900m would be area denial, not aimed shots.

How about we just go the coilgun route?
Rail guns are now a thing for naval guns. Currently in limited sea trials.
Offensive lasers are now currently being deployed on large airplanes.

I recently heard the new rail gun system was having a good degree of difficulty being a viable weapon system. Something to do with the price of munition, and maintenance for the behemoth of a gun.

To be honest I hope they figure out all the quirks, because future weapons are neat.

A buddy of mine played on of the apocalypse games (Table top) and was loaned a titan or the closest thing to represent it (someone had hand made it).

The titan was like 2 feet tall, a large massive turreted monster. . .

The short of it is halfway through the game the titan just falls to pieces after someone bumped the table. The crumbling titan knocked all the figures around so everything kind of turned into a wash since it was such a large game.

However titans are some super powerful units.

I do greatly enjoy a glorious battle in the name of the Emperor.
I am also a big fan of those guardsman stories someone posted on here. I particularly enjoyed the very human element to them and to this one as well.

Ain't no point in an epic battle without a little embellishing and creative wording :)

I wish I had the time and money to play the table top, only ever got to play the table top version with my friends collection. Even then I was always on the losing side. (mostly because I like to try out insane tactics.)

I found these gifs and they got me thinking. What if there was a retro point and click 40k game?
Think about a game on par with King's Quest or Space Quest.

I wonder how badass that would be. Either way I want to play one now. . .

That cogboy is droppin some phat beats up there. Best watch out or the groove will wreck yah.

Oh hell yeah, in a universe where your enemies are murderous, murderous mushrooms, bloodthirsty demons and mindless xenos, there is something very awesome about human adversity and perseverance.
