I love Mexican food but I can agree with this. It is very much variations on the same tasty thing.

Authentic Mexican food is very good but Tex-Mex, which is what most people in the states refer to as Mexican food, is more often than not way too overloaded with cumin and cheese to be appetizing to me.

And I say that as a Texan so I can't even imagine the kind of abominations that people pass off as Mexican food the further north you get.

I wouldn't say abominations. I had some pretty bombing tacos outside the Church of Scientology in LA. Best I've ever had.

Yeah I would say tacos are a whole different thing, but I will say I really enjoy those.

I never said that I only said that the majority of Tex-Mex you run into is bad, which I stand by

What kinda stuff constitutes authentic mexican food? Cause all I know is fajitas, tacos and crunchwrap supremes. Not a slight, actually asking.

All Mexican food taste the same.
A lot of food is generally the same shit and is just organized differently. Sure you have burritos and tacos which are both just a tortilla of sorts with similar things inside them and most other things are just tortilla with shit inside them.

I don't know if I agree that it tastes the same though. If you've had a torta before and try to tell me that it hits the same as a taco, I disagree. That's like comparing beef hotdogs and hamburgers or some shit. Yeah it's bread, meat, plus condiments but that doesn't end up the same. Enchiladas definitely don't taste much like a burrito would or should either.

I don't know where you live but go look for people who actually know the culture whether first hand or not. Get a torta or some actual tacos.

I have never seen anything called a crunchwrap or crunchwrap supreme besides Taco Bell. Which as an adult I know you know, is not authentic Hispanic/Mexican food. I love Taco Bell still but it's just fast food inspired by the usage of tortilla.

Besides just Mexican there's tons of other great Hispanic/South American foods out there. A good one that I've had first hand from people from El Salvador is pupusas. My old roommate and one time best friend's parents were from there and they made stacks of these fucking things in a day and would just refrigerate them and they'd just heat them up. It's not just a Salvadorian dish though, I think Hondurans also make them often.
It's pretty much just a cake like bread filled with pork, cheese, and beans or something. People put anything in it really.

There's tons more of this kind of stuff to get but I think these three are great introductory foods to it. The first time I had authentic tacos I was told to get beef tongue which I had never had. Fucking delicious. Why don't we use tongue more often?

I still find Morrowind's graphics to be more aesthetically pleasing than Skyrim's. Also, old graphics aren't inherently bad or ugly just because they are old.

I like that era from 2001-2004 where everything was blocky and undefined.
It allowed a lot of developers to be creative with the lighting and ambient effects to hide some of the flaws within the game. It's why some remasters are inferior to the original.

Compare the original mass effect trilogy with the remaster they keep advertising.
Now I will play the remaster at some point, it will probably run better and add some much needed fixes.
But compare that to the original and it looks worse, a lot of the atmosphere is lost.

Not having 4k textures and crap makes development easier and allows them to focus on other stuff and allows the player to use their imagination more.
I like the modded Morrowind look best. no need for graphics go go beyond that in 90% of games imo.

Isn't this the soul vs soulless argument?
Maybe on a deeper level than I am aware of, but for me it really is about certain visual styles being more appealing than others. I think Morrowind's graphics help give the game a certain character that Skyrim lacks, if that makes any sense.

I think Millim had a really great point about that blocky style from 2001-2004. Many of my favorite games from a graphical standpoint come from that era, including Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Command and Conquer: Renegade, Dawn of War, and Rome: Total War. Even some games from an earlier period still look great to me today, namely Alpha Centauri (1999), Homeworld (1999) and Ground Control (2000).

Artistic style and art direction matter far more than graphical fidelity, realistic everything, and high resolution.

We all know it's a game. We all know it's not real. We aren't fooled by the sweaty skin on everyone. But yeah I think the Soul vs Soulless thing comes more into play now than it did back then. Too much focus on how detailed a game looks and not on how does it present itself and other actual aspects of the game that are important.

this but with videogames.

Ah okay, yeah pretty much this.
High end realism is cool but there is too much of it. It's nice to have a Crysis game sometimes but not as the graphical norm imo. I actually care less about graphics now with a pc than I thought I would. Just doesnt really matter to me.

Yeah, my issue is that there wasn't much that has grabbed me since the release of the PS4.
Outside of a few games, the last 8 years have felt very dry.

The fact that Fallout 4 is my most played PS4 game should tell you something.
