All Mexican food taste the same.
A lot of food is generally the same shit and is just organized differently. Sure you have burritos and tacos which are both just a tortilla of sorts with similar things inside them and most other things are just tortilla with shit inside them.
I don't know if I agree that it tastes the same though. If you've had a torta before and try to tell me that it hits the same as a taco, I disagree. That's like comparing beef hotdogs and hamburgers or some shit. Yeah it's bread, meat, plus condiments but that doesn't end up the same. Enchiladas definitely don't taste much like a burrito would or should either.
What kinda stuff constitutes authentic mexican food? Cause all I know is fajitas, tacos and crunchwrap supremes. Not a slight, actually asking.
I don't know where you live but go look for people who actually know the culture whether first hand or not. Get a torta or some actual tacos.
I have never seen anything called a crunchwrap or crunchwrap supreme besides Taco Bell. Which as an adult I know you know, is not authentic Hispanic/Mexican food. I love Taco Bell still but it's just fast food inspired by the usage of tortilla.
Besides just Mexican there's tons of other great Hispanic/South American foods out there. A good one that I've had first hand from people from El Salvador is pupusas. My old roommate and one time best friend's parents were from there and they made stacks of these fucking things in a day and would just refrigerate them and they'd just heat them up. It's not just a Salvadorian dish though, I think Hondurans also make them often.
It's pretty much just a cake like bread filled with pork, cheese, and beans or something. People put anything in it really.
There's tons more of this kind of stuff to get but I think these three are great introductory foods to it. The first time I had authentic tacos I was told to get beef tongue which I had never had. Fucking delicious. Why don't we use tongue more often?
