I wouldn't be too averse to cybernetics if they implemented them right. As far back as F1, there was supposed to be a gang leader with a cybernetic hand in the Boneyard. Cases like Horrigan and The Lou are state of the art, but the technology exists on a level feasibly accessible to particularly well-connected wastelanders, even in-canon. If we expand our sphere of focus to include soft canon, the Reavers were an entire faction based around cybernetics tech.
Of course, whether we've been given any cause to justify an ounce of faith that it WOULD be implemented right is another question entirely.
