How rich are you in Vegas?

Threepwood

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
As i'm snowed in, and all my plans have been cast into the underowld's styx, I decided to calculate the sum total of all my wealth in this game, and it's aproximatley 500,000 caps, excluding a bath full of pre war/NCR money in the Lucky38.

The total will probably be more like 550k, as i went and stole, murdered a whole load of BOS paladins, looted them, and still managed to keep myself on the idolized status.

I have, more or less, an obscene ammount of ammunition and power armor, and top tier weapons, I dread to imagine how much money and ammo i'd have if i took the perks which allowed you to find more in containers, of the respective commodities, i'd probably be in 7 figures.

So, heres a challenge for you, how much wealth do you own?

I don't know total net worth off the top of my head, but in all three playthroughs so far (two of which are still ongoing) I almost always have 20-35k caps ready to spend once I get to Freeside/Vegas. Blackjack to build up a bit, then slots until I hit the jackpot or have to play blackjack again. It's like clockwork, and I'd say money is too easy to get if not for several of the weapons/armors basically needing vendor repairs (unless you get Jury Rigging), and those repairs being stupid expensive. Even so, like I said, 20k minimum is standard for me at this point.

I never use blackjack or other (for me) boring games in casinos, so I don't end up hoarding thousands of caps. Maybe that's also because I don't collect each little piece of junk and sell it later.

Mostly it's about 3-4k caps I have in my inventory.

This. I find loot placement much more reasonable and realistic so I am not 'prospecting' in every desk, waste receptacle or filing cabinet looking for [insert quest item here]. I also never play a psychopathic character that kills for the sake of looting corpses.

Consequently, I do not accumulate nearly as many rounds of ammunition, bottle caps or high value items for resale. Between this style of play, never gambling & my use of the repairpeople, my caps fluctuate around the 1500 range.

Highest I got was almost 30k, then I realized all my armor and weapons were in pretty bad condition so the the repairs set me back around two thirds of that leaving me with about 10,000 caps

Obviously in this game (like most games - including the original Fallouts) actual money weighs nothing...so millions of bottle caps can take up no space and weigh nothing...

I have no idea what my character's total worth is, but now that I'm done with Dead Money I have just over 100,000 caps on my character along with several powerful weapons and power armor.

(BTW, gold bars are awsome, if you can find someone to sell them to.)

I just figured out my whole value, including my inventory value (with caps), armour and weapon collections back at the lucky 38 and companion inventories (as I use them as pack mules) and it has came to a very nice value:

Current Inventory (with caps and other currencies): 56,603
Armour and Clothing Collection (unique as well as sets that intrigue me): 19,882
Weapon Collection (Unique as well as weapons that intrigue me): 9,608
Companion Combined Inventories: 22,568

Overall Value of Me: 108,661 Bottlecaps or 380,313 NCR Dollars or 27,165 Legion Money (darn exchange rates!)

Ps: I like looking like i'm worth a lot it gives me pride, so is ti worth it to repair every single unique weapon/armour set i'm using just to make them look more valuable because some items jump in value if you repair them.
Am I the only person who loves to collect apparel and weapon sets that attract their intrigue? In the Lucky 38 I am up to my knees in non-unique weaponry.

I stealth killed a gambler for that great brown gambling outfit, and the same with the BOS Elder for his cool robes, I also love the Scribe robes.

Oh, and LMG's are the shit on your cabinets ;)

Yeah when I murdered the BOS for the NCR, I pack muled out every single thing I could with Boone and Rex. I've got to admit my Brotherhood collection set looks great on the bookshelf in Lucky 38.

^ Same Here.
I only had 6 luck to start of with, but as soon as I got that implant, the caps were flying in, to be honest I miss playing at casinos now, because I got kicked out all of the ones one the strip for that trophy (Yes i'm a trophy bitch). Now i'm only going to Vikki and Vance were the 'break the bank' money is 2000, i'm just on a roll really.

I added it all up and i have 874,963 exactly. One of my main goals is to hit 1,000,000 and i think its possible.

Nearly 20k in caps, double the amount was lost in casinos with 100 caps bets. I will get an implant soon, since a luck of 6 is apparently not how you roll in Vegas these days.

I have about 8000 caps, maybe more if I sell some of the junk I have in my Lucky 38 room, I arely if ever play in the casinos I have incredibly bad luck normaly and combined with my 3Lk character most fo the time I just left with no chips to exchange, also i really can't understand how in the fuck Caravan works, I follow the rules and when I think I have got it I just enter in a endless discard loop.
Maybe when Dead Money is available for the PC I could get a good amount of the gold bars, my character is 10 st + Strong back, I think If I just discard everything in my inventory on the exit i could get them.
I don't spend that many caps, I only use the Ballistic Fist and my Remnants Armor, and I got the Lady Killer and confirmed bachelor perks, so free repairs in the Outpost.
