I got my 15 seconds of fame

First time out of the vault
Well, after seeing ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ , there was a Time reporter there who interviewed me. I was truly moved by the movie and was astounded that someone would want my opinion. We talked for about 5-10 minutes and I left it at that. I didn't feel that I had actually been very helpful to her, since I was still a little shaken by the movie. The way I looked at it was there are a heck of a lot more people out there that would better express themselves. Low and behold I received a call from my mother-in-law today who told me that my name poped up in Time... so I hit the internet and found not just one, but two articles. So now I must proclaim myself famous. Maybe I'll start my own line of T-shirts. Start doind celebrity speeches. Maybe even have a street named after me. I can't wait till the papparazi starts hanging around my front lawn just to get a picture of me on a bad day. :)

Anyway here's the links

Greg

P.S. Please, no autographs at this time. I'm still trying to aquire and agent.

If you're the Greg with the wife over in Iraq, thank her for her service. Much appreciated.

CCR, you should stop dismissing everything you disagree with as bad. The movie could very well be a briliantly directed movie, and even very good. I personally don't know, though.

I'm not going to say congrats, because I don't believe anyone deserves to be congratulated for having been interviewed. Pheh.

Yep... I'm the guy

Yes, I'm the guy with the wife in Iraq. I plan o nputting up a webiste with some pictures from over there next week that she has sent me. If you guys want, I'll post a link to it when its done.
Just sent out a couple more packages today. Her birthday is the 22nd.
I'll pass on the thanks

That's funny, I just got back from the movie. It took a while for it to come to the theatre here.

I'm amazingly pissed off right now.

I just can't wait until November. I feel extremely lucky to be able to vote in this election, and hopefully change a lot of the things going on in the world right now.

I've seen it, you have'nt, thus I have every right to hate it and you none to disagree with me.

Damn, man. Wife in Iraq? My sympathies, I can't stand leaving my women for more than a month, I go berserk.

Anything that is against Bush is great in my book, even when it was done by a prick like Michael Moore.

Exactly why the movie is dangerous and stupid. It makes peopel angry, it does'nt change opinions. Moore is trying to make Iraq another Vietnam, which it won't be.

I'd be interested in it, anything to support our troops, I'm all for.

They didn't ask to be sent there, but their work is appreciated.

It already is.

Oh, and I was pissed off before I saw the film. I've been pissed off ever since November 2000.

Her job

I think her MOS is a Logostics specialist.. She takes care of the vehicle records for the mechanic guys and also orders and pics up the parts they need. The bad part about her jon is that she has to be certified to run all the vehicles so when the need arises, they drop her in a five ton (since not too many people have a mil license to drive one) and she drives convoy across Iraq. I don't ussually find out about that until it's already done. Last time she was out, it was for three days. She doesn't want me wo worry so she doesn't tell me when she goes. I guess thats a good thing.
I'm hoping to get all the pics she sent me up on a website next week. So you guys can see how life is for her and the unit over there, some of Iowa finest.
I'd just like to thank you guys for not slamming me on my comments about the movie and such. So far I've seen to many people shipped over. It just seems that too many family and friends are being called up for a mission that doesn't seem to have an ending point. So far I've watched as our old unit was activated, 2 of my cousins called to duty, one of my groomsman and best friend has been sent over. I got word that another friend and two more cousins just got put on alert. With all the activations, it kinda leaves the good ole summer BBQ's with a lot of empty seats.
Anyway... again thanks and if you know of a soldier thats over there or may be going over, be sure to thank them... Thier doing one hell of a job no matter what the our political leanings may be.

It already is.
Yeah. Let's just ignore the fact that over the last month Moqtada Al Sadr, the biggest thorn in Iraq's side, has fallen, and that overall the news from Iraq is mostly positive?

True, but this just makes you angrier. What, may I ask, is the purpose of a film if it only makes an audiance angry?

Hell yes. Greatest army in human history, despite whatever Belgian pissant minister might say to the contrary.

Can't wait for the photos tired.

Yeah, some fucker that I've never heard of and don't care about is really worth the lives of hundreds of our kids.

How about you go over there and fight, kiddo?

Maybe you'll find some WMDs.

Anger isn't always a bad thing. Especially not in this case.
