I didn't get back to this point yet but I remember one of Caesar's second at the fort, saying something like:
'The legion took us, raised us, made us better than we were.'
A very convincing line, a lot more than any of Edward's hypocrit speeches, or Vulpes's.

Unfortunatly all I am seeing in the legion's individual and collective behaviour is hypocrisy, and behind the latin and dress up, nothing more than low common raiders and slavers.

You speak of honnor and improvement yet you kidnap families that didn't ask you for anything? Force yourself on teenage girls?
You put up a show about punishing a town of 'evil' people, yet the two only survivors happen to be powder gangers, who obviously didn't get the object of your lesson beside that, and you call that teaching justice?
It's not even a terror lesson, it's simply stupid. There are plenty of corpses in the town hall for examples, some that even appeared to be travelers or from out of town. Get the mayor, the powder gangers, the NCR since you are at war, and any residents you judge 'bad people'. But the fact that everyone without exceptions is dead or enslaved prove you didn't care about your so called principles, you were just looking for fresh meat.

And nope, it's not good propaganda either, legion's boys. Make a effort to separate who deserve what, you might even get some regular civilians who aren't merchants on your side.

The way I see it, Caesar is instituting Pax Romana. The NCR retreads the past, like Legion, but as Ulysses says, “the bear is diseased, feeble... barely clings to life...”. I did an NCR playthrough last time I played NV. And you know what? I fucking hated it and myself the whole time. The NCR is a two headed bear; each head pulls in a different direction and the bear goes fucking nowhere. They can’t even get their shit together to send their elite shock troops to fight the “common raiders”.

Yeah, the Republic is more adaptable than the Legion in terms of succession and power structure. But don’t act like it’s any more fucking efficient. Because then you’re just spoonfeeding yourself your own bullshit.

And that’s just gross.

A NCR's puppet, me? No, no, my legion's nemesis, for who do you mistake me? There is a error in your exe indeed.

I am not even enough of a roleplayer to make a single NCR playthrough, no more than legion. Sure I can play mercenary for the NCR here and there if they pay, just as much as I can sabotage their efforts to keep their rotten foot in the Mojave, sabotaging Helios one, their crops farms, headshooting the crimson caravan branch and the like. But the NCR as a institution deserve to be fucked and sent back to where they came from, just as much as the legion. The both of them have it coming to walk funny on their way back if you catch my meaning, only the treatment of individuals vary from one to another.

The legion could have been a viable side to support, IF they were half of what they pretend to be.
So whichever I choose, mr House or Independant Vegas, I do it to fuck the NCR and the legion.
Caesar and NCR can tell all the bullshit they want on compared history, morals, ethics, the majority of locals in the game don't want any of them. If it's good or bad in the short or long term future doesn't matter to me, it's their lifes. Why would I impose them the NCR or legion's way of life, who aren't so different than you seem to believe, when my character will likely just move on sooner than later anyway, regardeless of the outcome?

(No, I don't pay much tribute to what the ending slides may tell on the courrier's future)
 
I am at the fort and I want to put 'Caesar' on a cross... It's so tempting to atomize nearby legionnaires with my stockpile of c-4, then crucify Edward while I am still on pardon status...
If it was right to put Edward on a cross yesterday then it's right to do it today.

But it's so easy to pull off, it make it a dilemma because it shoudn't be possible to make a example like that and simply paddle yourself to the other side of the river like a tourist. Will decide tomorow I guess.
 
Bruh. You're just trying to be an asshole to the Legion. What did we even do to you, besides obviously conquer and subjugate your loved ones?
 
The legion is just as weak as the NCR, if not weaker. Yes they hide behind there mask of savagery, but as with most they are all followers to weak to think or act for themselves and turn to the past. Each individual looks around and goes "what Im doing cant be bad as they rest are doing it too". Weak sheep ripe for the slaughter.

A strong independent Vegas is the only way forward. A new system for a new world.
 
After some thinking, I have decided that Edward need to die. Sure he is dying anyway but I am not supposed to know that in game. It's not about the Dam, it's not about Vegas, it's not even about how full of bullshit he is. It's about the legion. Nothing will change if Edward survive a second defeat at the Dam, and would get worse if he won. But if he die, the legion will destroy itself or change to survive the crisis.

Exactly. My money is on them imploding after their founder and sole relatively competent leader get put on the cross he belong, stiffed, and dead. Then rape his would be successor at the Dam while his blood is still hot.
