The Fallout NPC Mod by TeamX was updated to v.3.0, and then 3.1 recently:
Changes in v3.0:

- Fixed bugs, which caused game crash.
- Fixed various minor bugs, removed debug messages.
- "Best armour" option replaced with the "Change armour" option (current armour
changes to best armour from inventory).
- NPC will not use weapon type unusual to them.

Note! This version IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the previous versions!

(...) "Fallout NPC Mod" was updated to v.3.1. This bug was fixed.
If you've ever wanted to play Fallout with Fallout 2-like expanded NPC control options, now is the time.

The one major thing about Fallout 1 that disappointed me was the interaction with joining NPC's. I mean I like that they acted on their own without my control, but you could have at least given them a few bits of advice they'd certainly take like "Wear the power armor instead of leather".

Great work!

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

There is an patch and an update pack, in what order should it all be installed?

Personally I don't like "changes", I like mods. I mean REAL MODS! Different plot, different game...

Wohoo Fallout with a shotgun! Whopee...hell i wanted fallout with a new plot...perhaps with a shotgun...not JUST the shotgun..

Does anything add the option to tell NPC's to get the hell out of the way like in FO2? The only time it really gripes my ass is in Shady Sands. Some asshole kid blocks me inside a house EVERY SINGLE TIME I play. The rest of the TeamX updates I can live without. Although it sounds awesome.

Mad Max how is Pamedia, seems pretty slow these days...

ow and well small mods with an impact on the gameplay for those that want to try new things is a good thing, more power to them. Fallout1 needs more of tweaks in the interface than anything else, i guess.

I dunno. I haven't been on a computer all that much in the past few months. The place always goes through lulls but never dies. I'm not worried about it.

So how about starting a mod yourself instead of ranting about the efforts of TeamX?

It's so easy to talk about modding Fallout if you never tried so ...

Barracuda is right. TeamX's work is of immense value to the modding community and gamers of Fallout. In the meantime, the "change everything" mods are collapsing left and right and except for Haris are yet to produce one complete "new game". 's why I value TeamX above them. Results, not just dreams.

Not so aggressive, Wasteland Ghost. There's no need to scold the man for that.

I'm not surprised. I had a look at the scripting system a while back and it looked like it would be very hard for anyone but an experienced programmer to learn and use.

Dude relax, it was a joke, and a funny one too
Just wanted to point out that WG is a "Dudette" :)

I think they expected some insightful comments on the mod and are getting a bit frustrated since there aren't any.

My english is bad and I understand that some of my typos are very funny for you. But, please understand me too: this
Changes in v3.1:
- Corrected typo in readme
lol...
is very insulting to me personally, because I've spent a lot of time trying to find and correct that damn bug with game crash.

PS May be my sense of humor is bad too :).

PPS No hard feelings at all ;).
